Fostering Climate Justice Awareness in Jordanian Universities Intern At American Friends Service Committee

SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Middle East Regional Office proposes a collaborative effort with universities in Jordan to develop a Climate Justice course. The course will equip students with a deep understanding of the ethical dimensions of climate change, shedding light on its disproportionate impact on marginalized communities. It fosters awareness about the intersectionality of environmental issues, social justice, and human rights, encouraging students to analyze and address the root causes of climate change critically. Additionally, the course will empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become advocates for sustainable practices, equipping them to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing global efforts to combat climate change. By incorporating this course into the curriculum, universities will play a vital role in nurturing socially responsible and environmentally conscious citizens prepared to tackle the complex challenges of our changing world.
