WHAT DO WE DO …

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for more than 40 years, has provided relief to populations victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion hygiene but also in the essential aspect of food security and means of existence. Present in around twenty countries, the SI teams – 2,000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The access and security representative joins the security team, made up of 4 people and each member of which is assigned to several countries (distributed across one or more geographic desks).

He/she contributes, within the regional teams (Desks) concerned, to the implementation of the organization’s security, safety and humanitarian access policy in each of the contexts concerned, in conjunction with the teams on each field.

He/she supports the teams, in each context concerned, in the analysis of the security context, the development of measures for managing security risks and developing humanitarian access, and in their implementation.

He/she supports field teams in incident management.

He/she participates in the integration/awareness/training of new arrivals on aspects of security, safety and humanitarian access.

He/she joins a team of Access & Security Referents, coordinated by the manager. Within this team, he/she promotes the exchange of good practices, capitalizes on his/her experiences and contributes to the development of tools , procedures and means.

He/she (non-exhaustive list):

  • Provides direct operational support:
    • Contextual monitoring and analysis of intervention contexts
    • Management of security and humanitarian access: support for the development of the framework, archiving, implementation
    • Support to focal points and (if applicable) dedicated human resources on the ground
    • Knowledge and capacity building: briefings, training
    • Security audit and follow-up of recommendations
    • Monitoring incident management, member of the crisis management team
  • Participates in the development of the overall access and security framework:
    • Contribution to the development of the security management policy and framework
    • Design, monitoring and capitalization of institutional action plans Access, Safety and Security
    • Development of the institutional training framework linked to access and security
    • Representation of SI within security-related bodies

You have field experience in a security & humanitarian access coordination position, you want to work at the headquarters level of a dynamic association while maintaining a lot of interaction with the field , you like security and access-related challenges humanitarian , you like to support or even supervise international teams.

YOUR PROFILE

  • General higher education at bachelor’s level in International Relations, Political Science with a specialization in Development, International Cooperation or logistics.
  • Essential NGO experience of at least 5 years in humanitarian field missions, including 3 years with responsibilities in security management of teams and operations in hostile environments.
  • Ability to respond to a security emergency 24/7.
  • Mastery of the most common office software (Word and Excel)
  • Language: French, English essential, Spanish would be an asset
  • Experience in one or more intervention contexts appreciated.

IF WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Position based at the headquarters of Solidarités International, in Clichy la Garenne (Metro Mairie de Clichy) with field travel
  • Fixed-term contract – Maternity leave replacement
  • Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of teleworking per month or 100% teleworking (package paid monthly) with 3 days of mandatory face-to-face work per month. In accordance with the Teleworking Charter in force and the manager.
  • Gross monthly remuneration: €3,183 or €3,316 depending on the salary scale in force
  • Leave: 2.0833 CP/month and 1 day of RTT/full month of work
  • Mutual insurance (80%), restaurant tickets (60%), transport tickets (50%) covered by the association
  • Recovery days and medical coverage 100% covered during field trips.
