SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for nearly 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI’s teams – 2,500 people in total, made up of national and international employees, in the countries of intervention and at headquarters, as well as a few volunteers – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
Integrated within the Accountability and Partnership Development Department (RDP), the Institutional Cooperation Service (SCI) is structured around 3 pillars:
- monitoring and maintaining the relationship between SI and its institutional (public) funding donors/partners to feed SI’s institutional strategy;
- the production/strengthening of internal knowledge of donors/institutional partners and their procedures;
- diversification of the portfolio of donors/institutional partners and prospecting.
Job Description
The assistant will carry out his/her duties under the supervision of the head of the Institutional Cooperation Service, within a team composed of the service manager, two institutional cooperation officers and the assistant.
He/she will actively contribute to the search for funding and to knowledge of donors/institutional partners and their procedures.
His tasks may lead him to work with other IS departments (programs, program quality and communication in particular).
Main tasks:
- Ensure monitoring of funding opportunities and news from institutional donors through a weekly newsletter: research/selection of funding opportunities, summary, dissemination. Funding opportunities will also be monitored via the new internal activity management software;
- Draft and distribute summaries of calls for projects, funding opportunities and reports from institutional donors;
- Support the manager and those in charge in researching and writing summary documents on different institutional donors in order to strengthen internal knowledge of these donors, their financing mechanisms and procedures;
- Support the department in updating and archiving information and documents relating to donors, particularly in the context of transferring information to the organization’s new activity management software: contact list, donor meeting reports, summaries of calls for projects, documents on the operation of donors, etc.;
- Support the manager and those in charge in prospecting for new institutional donors;
- Participate in internal and/or external department meetings and write minutes;
- Translate working documents from English to French, and vice versa, using available software and tools.
Your profile
- Higher education (bac +4/5 level) focused on political, human and social sciences, law, international relations, or any other relevant field;
- Excellent writing, summarizing and formatting skills in French and English;
- Critical and analytical mind, autonomy, rigor;
- Strong interest in the causes defended by SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL;
- Interest in the functioning of donors/institutional partners (public) and the financing of humanitarian aid and international cooperation;
- Professional mastery of French and English;
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools and an appetite for information management software.
If you will offer the following conditions
- Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Mairie de Clichy metro station
- Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
- Compensation: 4.90 euros/hour
- The gratuity is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of presence during the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
- Public transport covered 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Meal vouchers at €8.90/day of actual training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
