SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams – 3,200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.

Reporting to the Head of the Communications Department, within the Development and Communications Department, your mission is to manage part of the content production of the communications department, and to support the communications actions of the missions, in line with the association’s communications plan and in a multi-channel approach.

Job Description

List of main responsibilities:

1) Production of field content for the communications department:

In conjunction with the missions and geographic directors and in collaboration with the rest of the communications team:

– He/she identifies the topics to be covered: participates in the editorial conference and inter-departmental communication meetings, is the privileged contact for missions for the collection and reporting of information from the field and ensures monitoring specific to the contexts in which SI is present.
– He/she is more particularly responsible for the pre-production and/or production of multimedia content such as photos, videos and testimonials intended for different formats and channels: identifies and briefs service providers (videographers, photographers, editors, etc.) and supervises their work from the brief to delivery, organizes field visits by photographers and videographers, identifies new service providers, supervises the allocated budget, ensures the proper management of the photographic and video database, and may be required to travel to the field to produce material.
– He/she participates in the upgrading of content production and distribution: supports the rest of the communication team on photo, video, editing and dedicated equipment expertise; participates in renewing the content offering, in particular through the evolution of formats; and seeks partnerships, in particular co-production.

2) Pre-production of the series “With Your Own Eyes”

He/she is responsible for the successful completion of the series and its pre-production: identification of the theme, field trips for location scouting, storyboarding and writing the script, supporting the production agency on the ground for filming and production monitoring, monitoring the allocated budget and collaboration with the team during the post-production and promotion stages.

3) Support for missions in their communication actions

He/she is the focal point of the Missions to help them carry out their communication actions within the framework of donor accountability, and more broadly for their visibility needs:

– He/she advises and supports them in the implementation of their communication strategy and the definition and prioritization of their communication actions, participates in the optimization of budget lines, identifies opportunities for headquarters/mission synergies in terms of communication actions, supports them in the implementation (choice of angles and formats, service providers, distribution, monitoring and coordination of production), participates in the production and/or ensures internal project monitoring and ensures the validation of the final rendering.
– He/she supports the missions in their skills development on communication topics: briefs and debriefs, writing and definition of tools and processes, online training and communication module facilitation.
– He/she may be called upon when recruiting a local communication profile.

4/ Crisis communication: Participation in crisis communication during humanitarian emergencies.

To carry out their mission, the Field Communications Officer may travel regularly to the field as needed.

IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Fixed-term contract_ 6.5 months_ Maternity leave replacement
  • Position based at the headquarters of Solidarités International, in Clichy la Garenne (Mairie de Clichy metro station) with travel to the field
  • Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of teleworking per month. In accordance with the Teleworking Charter in force and the manager.
  • Gross monthly salary: 3183 euros or 3316 euros (level 6) according to the current salary scale
  • Leave: 2.0833 CP/month and 1 day of RTT/full month of work
  • Mutual insurance (80%), meal vouchers (60%), transport tickets (50%) covered by the association
  • Recovery days and 100% medical coverage during field trips.
  • Education: Bac+5 in journalism or communications.
  • Experience: 5 years minimum, including ideally at least one experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • Strong interest in international news
  • Very good command of photography and video: shooting and post-processing, including editing.
  • Good command of DTP and editing tools including Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • English proficiency: bilingual.
  • Ability to communicate with ease, both orally and in writing, interpersonal skills, diplomacy, analytical, synthesis and rigor skills, organized, good team spirit, initiative, ability to work in project mode.
