Description of the offer
Within the Operations Department, and under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Regional Director is responsible for all operations for the Country Offices under his/her responsibility – Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Togo-Benin (grouped under a single Office), Chad-Cameroon (grouped under a single Office).
In particular, the Regional Director is the guarantor of the humanitarian relevance of operations, their security, their proper management in compliance with SI standards, and their financing, and in particular the maintenance of good relations with donors. The Regional Director also participates in the orientation of SI’s Global strategy.
The Regional Director is also a key player in the influence and reputation of SI, and contributes to the testimony and advocacy of SI. In this capacity, he/she proactively participates in meetings, forums, joint positions, testimonies and other external events concerning the countries under his/her responsibility.
The position is structured around 7 main pillars: Strategy and annual planning; Representation and partner relations; Awareness, advocacy and Testimonials; Security management; Communication and reporting between countries and headquarters; Managerial supervision of its headquarters and field teams and Coordination and monitoring of projects;
Your profile
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as Country Director/Head of Mission is essential
- At least 5 years of experience in Country Coordination positions (Field Coordinator, Program Coordinator, etc.)
- Knowledge and field experience in at least one, and preferably two, of the contexts covered by the position are welcome.
- Experience within a headquarters is welcome
- Proven experience in security management and crisis management
- Representation capacity (in the field or at headquarters)
- In-depth knowledge of the challenges of the humanitarian sector essential
- Management experience essential
- Proven ability to design, write and raise funds from humanitarian donors
- Bilingual French / English required.
SI will offer you the following conditions
Nature of the contract
Fixed-term contract, 18 months. Contract until 05/31/2026
Remuneration
Remuneration according to profile and location of the position.
Benefits :
Position carried out from Metropolitan France: Possibility of teleworking: 4, 12 days per month or 100%, in accordance with the Teleworking Charter in force and the manager (monthly package paid for the 100% TT method); Mutual insurance covered at 80%; Meal vouchers covered at 60%; Île de France transport covered at 50%;
Position held outside Metropolitan France: Per Diem; Leave: During the mission, a system of alternation between work and leave is set up at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with USD 850 allocated by Solidarités International). In addition to these break periods, there is one additional day of rest per month worked. ; Social and medical coverage : Expatriates benefit from insurance that reimburses all health costs (including medical and surgical costs, dental and ophthalmological care, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. The costs of essential vaccinations and antimalarial treatment are reimbursed.
