SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for over 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs: drinking, eating, and shelter. Particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, the world’s leading cause of death, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and the promotion of hygiene, but also in the essential field of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, SI’s teams – 3,200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
General objective:
The Regional Ethics and Compliance Expert provides countries under their supervision with independent and objective assessment and support on issues related to anti-abuse, internal audit, compliance, risk management and external audit related to specific donors.
Responsibilities and main activities:
• Conduct organizational or ad hoc internal audits based on a risk approach.
• Coordinate and assist country teams in responding to external audits in the field.
• Strengthen prevention strategies, particularly by raising awareness of abusive behavior.
• Monitor and support reporting of allegations to ensure appropriate treatment.
• Conduct or contribute to administrative investigations, where appropriate.
• Conduct or support due diligence exercises on previously identified local partners.
• Ensure the recording of recommendations and regular monitoring of their implementation.
• Play an active role in the identification, assessment and formalization of risks at the country level.
• Ensure the functional management of Ethics & Compliance managers and coordinators in the countries.
The main challenges:
• Integrate this new position into existing schemes between countries, the regional unit and functional departments
• Adjust its positioning between countries with and without local ethics and compliance resources
• Manage priorities and adapt to the unexpected
• Maintain consistent compliance standards and guidelines tailored to different contexts.
IF YOU WILL OFFER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
• Position based at the headquarters of Solidarités International, in Clichy la Garenne (Mairie de Clichy metro station) with travel to the field
• Fixed-term contract Executive status
• Gross monthly salary of: €3,183 or €3,316 (Level 6) depending on the scale in force at the head office
• Possibility of teleworking: 4 or 12 days of teleworking per month or 100% teleworking with 3 days of mandatory face-to-face work per month. In accordance with the Teleworking Charter in force and the manager.
• Leave: 2.0833 CP/month and 1 day of RTT/full month of work
• Recovery days and 100% medical coverage during field trips
Training
Bachelor’s degree in auditing, social sciences, accounting, human rights or any other related field. Recognized certifications in internal auditing are appreciated.
Experience
• At least 4 years of experience in internal and external auditing.
• Experience in handling allegations of abuse and conducting administrative investigations.
• Experience in the INGO sector and/or grant-receiving organisations.
• Experience working with SI (or similar organization) would be an asset.
Specific skills and experience:
• Ability to make work and expected results accessible to non-technical colleagues.
• Have demonstrated great cultural sensitivity and a great capacity for adaptation.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Diplomacy and sense of coordination (team spirit)
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess challenges and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication, organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to multitask.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Autonomy & curiosity.
• Computer literacy with very good command of the MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of software such as SAGA, HOMERE, Link is a plus.
Language: Fluency in English and French, written and spoken
