JOB
Oxfam in Burkina Faso is looking for a Funding Manager based in Ouagadougou, reporting directly to the Program Unit Manager, with the aim of ensuring the planning, coordination, securing and management of own funds and funding from donors to enable Oxfam in Burkina Faso to execute its country strategy.
WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
- Supervise and coordinate the development, presentation of project proposals until approval;
- Work proactively with Affiliate Funding Partners to identify and secure appropriate funding opportunities for the country;
- Lead the development/update, implementation and monitoring of the resource mobilization strategy (retention of strategic and institutional donors and broadening the base of potential donors for the country, etc.);
- Ensure quality control of design documents, proposals, country strategic plans with relevant affiliated partners and donors;
- Ensure effective capacity and skills strengthening of Oxfam staff and partners to better manage the funding portfolio according to Oxfam and donor norms and standards;
- Coordinate and manage the entire process for all key funding opportunities in the country;
- Work closely with programme managers to ensure that the partners involved correctly understand donor requirements, as agreed in the partnership agreement;
- Represent Oxfam within the donor community in country as required and maintain positive working relationships with donor agencies;

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
- Contract duration: 13 months
- Start date: 03/03/2025
- Leave: 30 calendar days for one year of presence at a rate of 2.5 days per month of service
- Location: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso with travel to the bases
- Attractive salary and benefits based on Oxfam scales in Burkina Faso

Essential criteria
- University degree, minimum BAC+4 level or equivalent in experience in a relevant field (finance, social sciences, economics, project management, development studies) or any other related discipline;
- Proven experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position;
- Experience in identifying, formulating, monitoring and justifying cooperation projects and/or humanitarian action in the field;
- Experience working with funding donors, including ECHO, EU, UN agencies, national donors (SIDA, AECID, AMC, GFO);
- Knowledge and experience in development and humanitarian action projects;
- Excellent written expression skills and ability to summarize;
- Flexibility and adaptability in unstable contexts;
- Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written;
- Commitment to the protection of human rights, particularly the rights of women and marginalized individuals or groups, and with the integration of this commitment as a guiding principle in all aspects of our organization’s work.
