UNOY Internship – Fundraising Officer

Starting date: 10 January 2022

Duration: 6 months (4 days a week-32 hours)

Location: Den Haag, Netherlands/Remote (In line with Dutch government guidelines, a working-from-home policy is currently in place until further notice)

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Please note that the position is unpaid. You will receive a stipend of 400 EUR per month to cover some expenses (additionally, commuting to the office is reimbursed by UNOY). You must be a legal resident or citizen of the EU. We unfortunately cannot sponsor a work permit/visa. You need to be already registered or be able to register in the Netherlands from abroad as BSN (Dutch registration number) is a legal requirement. You should also be enrolled in a university for the duration of the internship. Age between 20 and 29. You also need to have access to a personal computer and secure internet connection.

About UNOY Peacebuilders

UNOY is a youth-led network of over 120 youth organisations working towards more peaceful societies. We embrace values of peace, diversity, inclusion, and participation. At UNOY, young people have the opportunity to gain work experience in the field of peacebuilding, join an international team, develop new skills, and connect with young people and organisations around the world. All interns are supported by a supervisor in identifying their personal learning goals, training opportunities, and monitoring progress throughout the internship.

As a Fundraising Officer, you will:

Fundraising and Partnership development

  • Support in the implementation of UNOY’s Fundraising Roadmap 2021-2025 and Fundraising Process, and support staff and regional colleagues in using these resources;
  • Support the rollout of UNOY’s Fundraising Strategy among staff, regional colleagues and members;
  • Support advocacy efforts on youth-accessible funding for peace and security;
  • Research funding priorities and specific entry-points for new funding relationships across a range of donors (governments and foundations);
  • Search funding opportunities/ open calls for proposals and collaborate with regional grant committees;
  • Assist with the drafting of concept notes and funding proposals in response to calls for proposals.

Communications & Administration

  • Support external communications for UNOY’s partnerships, including the production and editing of online content for UNOY website and social media channels;
  • General office support beyond the assigned programme tasks, when requested.

This list of tasks and the time allocation between them is indicative and subject to change if internal priorities evolve.

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Experience or strong interest in peacebuilding and youth empowerment;
  • (Preferably) experience in fundraising and proposal writing;
  • Excellent English speaking and outstanding writing skills – French, Arabic or Spanish are an asset;
  • Experience or strong interest in organising events related to fundraising or partnership development;
  • Strong intercultural communication skills and ability to work in teams and individually under limited supervision.
