GBV Manager Sudan – Gedaref At Norwegian Church Aid

NCA is seeking an experienced GBV Manager to support our programme in Gedaref, Sudan. GBV case management services are limited in all of Sudan, and we are in the process of establishing case management services with PPS in all the states where we have GBV projects. We are currently implementing GBV activities both through partners and directly in 6 states. Capacity building and quality assurance will be one of our priority focuses in 2022. Our ambition is to scale up our activities and become the one to go to organization on GBV. Since we started up the GBV programme less than two years ago we have grown fast. In addition to NORAD and NMFA, we have been able to attract donors such as UNFPA, UNICEF, UNHCR, GAC, OCHA and BHA.

In this role you will have the overall responsibility for the development and management of the NCA Gedaref GBV programme and will report programmatically to Head of Sector GBV and have close collaboration with the Area Manager in Gedaref.

Start date: ASAP Contract type/period: Fixed term appointment, 12 months assignment with a possibility for extension. This is an expat position only and a non-family duty station. Areas of responsibility

  • Overall responsibility for NCA Gedaref GBV programme development, quality assurance, monitoring, reviewing, documentation of results, and reporting.
  • Help build a strong GBV team that can work independently throughout the whole project cycle involving planning, project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Overall responsibility for implementing partner follow up, including monitoring of progress and budget expenditures.
  • Networking and coordination with relevant actors, particularly GBVWG, and Protection WG in Tunaydbah, Umraqhubha camp and Gedaref.
  • Support GBV projects in other states with technical assistance and guidance on setting up case management services, GBVIMS and trainings related to this and PSS when and if called upon.
  • Follow up on implemented activities by field visits in Tunaydbah and Umraqhubha refugee camp and host communities.
  • The position will contribute towards creating synergies and integration with other Sectors within NCA and towards the achievement of “One Programme, One NCA” aspirations in Sudan.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Social Science, Psychology and/or at least 3 years relevant area work experience.
  • Experience working with Refugees and vulnerable communities in camp and non-camp area.
  • Management experience of GBV/ Mental Health Projects/GBVIMS
  • Working knowledge of CRSV and GBV survivors of conflicts, knowledge of reporting to GBVIMS IR and case management.
  • Experience with participatory fieldwork, reporting and monitoring of results
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles, ACT Alliance Code of conduct and GBV best practices.
  • Speaks English fluently, Arabic and/or Tigrinya is an added advantage
