in Lebanon Country office to develop their capacities in integrating gender and

Background
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit
organisation registered in Berlin. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability
of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions worldwide.
Since 2016, DRI Lebanon Country office has been working with Lebanese civil society
organisations and public officials to promote local governance in line with good governance
principles.

religious, ethnic, socio-economic groups, and people of different ages and abilities. DRI Gender
& Diversity as well as the safeguarding policies, aim to establish an approach which is sensitive
to the different realities of women and men in DRI’s organizational structures as well as
programming. Therefore, DRI seeks to ensure equal opportunities for women and men in
their diversity and encourages its employees to extend this gender-sensitive approach from
the sole focus on women to also include other marginalised groups.
To this end, DRI is looking for an expert in Gender and diversity to conduct a training for DRI
staff to develop their capacities in Gender and diversity perspective within workplace.
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and in close coordination with the
Gender and diversity focal point in Lebanon CO, the expert will be responsible of:
• Designing a needs assessment for DRI Lebanon staff (gender gap evaluation).
• Developing a training curriculum based on the findings of the needs assessment and
sharing it back with DRI 5 days prior to the training date.
• Delivering a full-day interactive capacity-building workshop for DRI staff that includes
role plays, innovative exercises for working groups, and case studies.
• Administering pre- and post-tests to assess the impact of the sessions on the trainees.
• Once the event is complete, preparing a summarized trainer report (template provided
by the DRI) including the methodology used during the training, and the main
recommendations.
Timeline and Deliverables:
Conducting the assessment for Lebanon staff and preparing the pre test(1 day) – November 2021
Delivery of the training session (1 day) – December 2021
Preparing the post-test and the trainer report with recommendations (1 day) – December 2021
Qualifications we require:
• Master’s Degree in gender studies, social sciences, psychology, or relevant fields.
• Significant experience in designing and delivering interactive training
workshops on gender topics.
• At least 8 years of work experience in women’s empowerment, gender equality and
diversity support.
• Experience in conducting team building and training team members and staff.
• Advanced knowledge of gender and diversity issues and relevant context in Lebanon.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with different personalities
and attitudes.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
The level of effort for this assignment is three expert days (one for the preparation activities,
and one for the delivery of the session).
