Note: this internship is only for students at accredited universities in the Netherlands, for students that have at least of 12 months left in their studies.

Description of the Internship

Do you want to understand how gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) and women’s empowerment are integrated into agri-food systems project design and implementation?

SNV is seeking a qualified and highly motivated intern to support the Agri-Food sector at SNV on GESI.

The internship goals will be decided together with the intern to ensure that the internship meets their learning goals and aligns with their studies.
The GESI Intern’s main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing formatting support in the development of GESI tools and trainings for food systems
  • Assisting in the research and creation of deliverables such as working papers and reports
  • Assisting with the development, scheduling, and facilitation of virtual meetings
  • Preparing documents for meetings
  • Taking notes in meetings
  • Disseminating documents for review and monitoring the review process to keep to deadlines
  • Being a point of contact for a range of staff and internal stakeholders
  • Writing and issuing emails to teams and departments on behalf of teams or senior staff
  • Scheduling and knowledge management assistance

  • Strong writing and speaking capabilities in English. French is a strong desire
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter
  • Attention to detail
  • Internet research skills
  • Social Media skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Teams is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in graphics software such as Canva is highly desirable

Qualifications

  • Currently registered as a student in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university in the Netherlands and in this study for the next 12 months
  • Bachelor or Master Study that is relevant to GESI (e.g., international development, women’s studies, sociology, anthropology, human rights, International Law or Affairs, Political Science, Diversity and Inclusion, Psychology or anything related to this.
  • Must be able to work from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Central European Time (CET)

Additional Information

  • Contract Type: 6 months internship, with possibility of extension if the intern remains a registered student at a Dutch university.
  • Duty station: Netherlands/remote
  • Expected Start Date: April 2023
  • Work hours: Central European Time (CET), up to 40 hours per week. This assignment is hybrid remote/in-person. Two days a week of in-person work at the office in the Hague would be desirable.
  • Terms and conditions of Internship Agreement: Intern must be a registered student at an accredited university in the Netherlands for the entire duration of the internship. Allowance of gross €500 euros per month and reimbursement of public transport costs
