Welthungerhilfe has been running a Forecast-based Action (FbA) program entitled “Development and implementation of protocols for the implementation of prevention measures (EAP) for forecast-based drought relief financing in Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Kenya” since March 2020 and aims to further expand its activities in this thematic area in the coming years. As Expert Finances & Processes for this program, you will be responsible for all finance and process-related activities in close cooperation with the finance staff in the project countries.
Your responsibilities
- Manage finances and processes related to compliance with the donor guidelines of the German Federal Foreign Office
- Financial coordination of the FbA program, including cash flows and forecasts
- Initiate and execute processes related to the establishment, signing, and compliance of service and partner contracts
- Quality assurance for reports and financial statements of the program contractors from Welthungerhilfe’s program countries
- Manage processes and financials for revisions of service and partner contracts in cooperation with the program contractors
- Monitor FbA program processes and finances related to compliance with Welthungerhilfe’s Code of Conduct
- Consolidate financial overview of program budget and monitor budget expenditures
- Preparation of final reports for the German Federal Foreign Office
- Contact person for all financial and process related issues for the financial staff of the country offices as well as for the FbA program contractors
Your profile
- A university or polytechnic degree in a relevant field including financial administrative skills
- At least 3 years of professional experience in emergency relief and/or development cooperation
- Solid experience in the financial management of programs
- Experience in the implementation of programs financed by the German Foreign Office is desirable
- Strong intercultural skills and willingness to work in a multinational team
- Excellent written and spoken English and German language skills; knowledge of French would be an advantage
