GESI Specialist, USAID/RDMA Gender and Inclusive Development (GID) Study At Social Impact

Project Objective:

Under Task Order 46 of the Asia Learning Monitoring and Evaluation (ALME) program, the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) has requested Social Impact to complete a study on Gender and Inclusive Development (GID) in Southeast Asia. The study findings will be used to inform the Regional and Country Development Cooperation Strategy development and support integration of GID concerns into USAID programming.

Position Description:

Social Impact is seeking a Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist with qualitative research experience and expertise in GESI issues and donor programming in Southeast Asia. The GESI Specialist will be responsible for supporting qualitative data collection, including desk research, and assisting with the development of client deliverables. This is a part-time consulting position with a period of performance from November 2021 to April 2022.

**Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates currently based in Southeast Asia will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Team Leader and other team members, support the Gender and Inclusive Development study.
  • Conduct qualitative data collection and analysis, including literature review and key informant interviews.
  • Maintain clear and regular communication with the research team and HQ support staff, and inform the HQ team of any risks, problems, or challenges in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development and finalization of project deliverables, including GID training tools and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in international development, sociology, gender and social inclusion, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience conducting research on gender and inclusive development related issues or three years of experience with a master’s degree.
  • Experience working with USAID preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Oral and written fluency in English required.
