Ghana – Fundraising Advisor At Oxfam-Québec

This is a 12-month mandate in Ghana – Tamale.

The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in about ten countries in Africa, Latin America and Middle East over an eight-year period (2020-2028).

The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in inclusive, innovative and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything we do.

Here’s what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with Oxfam’s in-country team members, your mandate will be to:

• Support in developing a fundraising strategy for YEfL organisation (Youth Empowerment for Life).
• Facilitate linkages with potential partners, collaborators, donors or donor agencies as well as digital fundraising platforms, based on Oxfam’s and YefL’s strategic areas.
• Support teams in exploring and analysing calls for proposals as well as writing proposals.
• Explore global fundraising opportunities for the Youth Networks and YEfL.

For this mandate you must:

• Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
• Have university degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Resources Management or other relevant field;
• Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required);
• Have 3 years of relevant experience and good knowledge of donors in the development sector, particularly with youth focus organizations;
• Be familiar with social media and digital fundraising tools and platforms;
• Master the Office suite.
