Global Institutional Funding Coordinator At Human Appeal

Here at Human Appeal, we have an exciting opportunity for a Global Institutional Funding Coordinator to join our team, either to be home-based remotely or to work from our Head Office in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £34-43k per annum.​

As a Global Institutional Funding Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in​supporting HQ and Field Offices in the organisation’s growth through proactive management and coordination of institutional funding and global partnerships across HA’s countries. The job holder will be within the institutional funding unit and focus on securing funds and developing relationships with Institutional Donors, specifically with Corporates (CSR), Trusts and Foundations in the UK, Europe, the USA and globally.​We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.​

Key duties and responsibilities of the Global Institutional Funding Coordinator:

• Prospect new relevant Corporates, Trusts and Foundations both in the UK and overseas, conducting detailed research and intelligence to identify potential opportunities

• Build and develop relationships with funding representatives through written and face to face communication, with support from the Global Partnerships and Grants Manager.

• Work closely with the team in the UK and our Field Offices to identify relevant programmes for funding, and to prepare and submit detailed and compelling applications for funding

• Ensure all grant funding submissions are compliant with donor guidelines, internal criteria and international standards as well as all current fundraising regulations and guidance

• Support the Field Offices in preparing timely and high quality project reports to be submitted to the Grants Manager and Programmes Coordinators at HQ, as well as to the relevant donors

• Ensure the accurate and up-to-date maintenance of database records for all relevant grant-making funders

• Conduct all necessary screening checks and other due diligence requirements

• Participate in meetings and training courses/seminars as and when required

• Travel nationally and overseas for networking, in addition to establishing an understanding for better, up-to-date programme design and proposal development

What we’re looking for in our Global Institutional Funding Coordinator:

• A degree in International development or a related field is essential, and a Masters-level qualification is desirable

• Prior experience with INGOs and institutional donors, from which you could demonstrate:

– a proven track record of securing funding from Trusts, Foundations and Corporates

– excellent stakeholder management skills and a strong understanding of this specific Funding landscape

– ability to identify institutional funding opportunities, and of mobilising internal stakeholders to fully capitalise on these opportunities

– a high level of financial literacy – ability to understand and summarise financial information, develop budgets and demonstrate value for money in proposals

– highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation, persuasion, interpersonal and networking skills that result in the production of clear and persuasive proposals and donor relations

– a proven track record in developing and maintain strong working relationships with donors

– strong experience in project design, project proposal development and reports writing

• Computer literacy, with experience of using MS Office suite, is essential. Experience of using Salesforce is desirable

• Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages e.g. Arabic, Urdu are desirable

• A strong passion for and knowledge of the international development sector is essential
