Global Marketing and Communications Manager At Medair

Role Summary

The Marketing and Communications Manager supports Medair in attracting, converting, engaging, and retaining target audiences, while contributing to fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Engagement Director, they lead a team to develop and deliver international marketing and communication plans and products. They work closely with other Engagement team managers and may join the Crisis Management Team as/when required.

Project Overview

The Global Marketing and Communications team raises awareness of Medair’s work and humanitarian needs globally. This role supports worldwide fundraising efforts by providing insights, strategic input, and materials to enhance engagement with Medair.

Workplace & Conditions

Global Support Office (GSO) position based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Swiss or eligible EU citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Switzerland.

Starting Date / Initial Contract Details

As soon as possible. Full-time, open-ended contract

Responsibilities:

• Lead the global marketing and communication team, including strategy, ensuring brand equity and positioning across international markets and alignment with affiliates.

• Develop creative angles and assets for major corporate campaigns, ensuring consistent global messaging and branding.

• Create marketing and communication plans, providing key messages and content for engagement teams to execute campaigns.

• Understand donor segments and user journeys to develop marketing initiatives that grow the supporter base across markets and channels.

• Monitor market trends, uncover insights, and translate them into actionable ideas to fuel the donor funnel.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:

• Graduate degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent

• 5+ years supervisory management experience in communications, marketing or equivalent

• Strong working knowledge of English and French (Spoken and written), German is an asset

• Experience in project management and team leadership essential

• High competence in MS Office, Trello, Social Media platforms and WordPress CMS
