The Security Referent is part of Action Against Hunger Macro-Process One (1) “Humanitarian Consciousness” works under the supervision of the Risk Management Manager in Madrid, Spain.
The main objective of the Global Security Referent is to define/adjust a comprehensive methodology and strategic tools for our security risk framework applied to each mission, department and delegation. Ensures that there is a solid contribution approach used from the field for the development/adjustment of methodologies and tools; The Security Referent will maintain a relationship of direct functional responsibility over the security focal points of the missions and having as a cross-cutting axis the importance of promoting a security culture throughout the organization.
The main activities you will perform are the following:
- Ensure that security risk management is in line with the organization’s standards, principles and procedures.
- Provides technical support to our missions on all policies, procedures, guidelines and planning for personnel safety, operational security and program continuity.
- Support the capacity development of our employees at field level through visits and security workshops and training. Provide technical advice and support to Action Against Hunger partners on security management.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of equipment and the protocols by which such equipment is used to ensure that minimum safety conditions are met.
- Support in the analysis of security incidents with the necessary guidance to overcome obstacles and problems in the daily management of security. Provide direct advice to security focal points regarding incident management; provide guidelines, tools and follow-up of the action plan in coordination with the Country Director and the geographic DESKs
Does this description fit you?
- Knowledge of preferably law, political science, international relations or a technical degree or certification in a field related to the position. Strong knowledge of security, risk management, humanitarian aid, development cooperation.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in security project management in methodology and tools development, field support, information analysis and knowledge of security tools and procedures,
- Preferred, but not mandatory – Knowledge of action against hunger Analysis of information and knowledge of tools and procedures for action against hunger
- Spanish and French or English; all three languages are desirable
- Availability to travel, for short periods
