Polish Humanitarian Action is a non-governmental organization providing humanitarian and development relief worldwide since 1992. So far, we have carried out interventions in 52 different countries, implementing projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihood and Psychological support. Our head office is located in Warsaw, we have also offices in Toruń, Olsztyn, Białystok as well as 6 national offices: in South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Yemen, Madagascar and Ukraine, where we employ mainly local employees.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing PAH security standards and raising awareness of security among employees in Poland and abroad
  • Conducting risk analysis and evaluating security data from areas where PAH operates, initiating preventive measures based on these analyses
  • Regularly inspecting the functioning of the PAH security system in Poland and country offices (Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Yemen, Madagascar, Ukraine)
  • Supporting the Directors of Country Offices and Security staff in these offices on security matters
  • Participating in PAH task forces and crisis teams
  • Preparing the Global Security Team’s budget and supporting country offices in this area
  • Preparing and supervising the implementation of security plans, new procedures, and contingency plans
  • Conducting personnel preparation processes for work in country offices (briefings and training)
  • Purchasing security equipment and overseeing its storage and readiness for use
  • Strengthening PAH’s collaboration with other organizations in the field of security
  • Supporting the process of obtaining and managing insurance for employees

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least 5 years of experience in international NGO security operations
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in areas related to international relations, including at least 1 year in a global or regional position
  • Practical experience in the following areas: physical security, occupational safety and health, well-being, international affairs, crisis management, and risk assessment
  • Willingness and no contraindications to travel to PAH operation areas (approximately 4 months per year outside Poland)
  • A high level of self-awareness and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • A higher education degree
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken (C1 level)
  • A valid category B driving license
