ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you someone who can help Amnesty International engage and retain its supporter base across the globe as well as help build capacity in engagement and retention strategies across the movement—with a focus on, but not limited to email marketing? We’re looking for a highly passionate and motivated Global Supporter Engagement Officer to design and implement audience journeys to grow, develop and mobilise Amnesty International’s supporters and members in countries where**we don’t** have a formal national presence.

JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Digital Engagement Team, you will lead on global engagement campaigns by planning and executing audience journeys—focused on, but not limited to email. You will be supported by the Global Supporter Engagement Coordinator, and work alongside the Global Supporter Engagement Manager. Thanks to your knowledge, skills and experience, you’ll be able to maintain and exceed engagement among new and current international members and supporters that make up our global movement of millions. You’ll coordinate and produce content, as well as monitor and record the effectiveness of our engagement strategies.

ABOUT YOU

Are you an experienced email marketer, that is able to articulate the principles of long-term retention, from outstanding entry point onboarding, to great stewardship, and constant data monitoring, optimisation and reactivation? Are you an expert in CRM systems, mass-mailing tool and engagement analysis? Do you excel at sharing and implementing best practices as well as building capacity among colleagues? If so, this job is for you.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To work alongside various teams, especially digital marketing colleagues, to help grow and develop new online audiences and increase the engagement of existing international members and supporters
  • To design and deliver global supporter journeys for non-section audiences on a range of campaigns, as well as movement building and for fundraising opportunities.
  • To work closely with regional teams, namely with Regional Digital Campaigners and Regional Content Managers to design and deliver more regional relevant supporter journeys and ensure best practices.
  • To write and produce compelling human rights content in English that inspires, empowers, and mobilise our audiences to get involved in our campaigns and activities; primarily for html emails, but also for other content types (eg digital adverts, videos, animations, blogs, etc)
  • To set up email campaigns, by templating html emails; commissioning translations; monitoring engagement, analysing data and producing reports; and developing clear segmentation strategies.
  • To set up and review automated email journeys that provide supporters with relevant content and activities.
  • To project manage or support delivery of innovative online activities, designed to develop supporters’ skills (eg online learning, micro-tasking, etc)
  • To manage the implementation of new digital technology and practices around email marketing, and supporter retention.
  • To share best practices and help build capacity among colleagues in terms of supporter onboarding, development and retention; engagement strategy development; journey mapping; email content creation, development and production; email engagement analytics.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant proven experience of digital marketing with expertise in email marketing.
  • Excellent experience in digital content creation, including copywriting in English, html email design.
  • Experience in mass mailing and CRM tools required, preferably with Engaging Networks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in audience segmentation, split testing, and response analysis and optimisation for email.
  • Comfortable analysing and reporting on digital marketing KPIs, including conversion and cost metrics.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to achieve success in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the non-profit sector, in particular in campaigning and fundraising is desired but not essential.
