Global Workforce Associate At International Rescue Committee

Background:

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a global organization dedicated to helping people whose lives and livelihoods are affected by conflict and disaster. Although our headquarters (HQ) roles have traditionally been based in New York, approximately 35% of them are now situated outside the United States. This trend of global placement will continue as we bring roles closer to the programs they support, encouraging the growth of dispersed and remote teams. To support this global hiring expansion, IRC has built a Location Strategy to support the logistical, and operational goals of the global workforce.

Job Overview/Summary:

The Global Mobility team is looking for a Global Workforce Associate who will play a key role in the coordination of global hiring and international employment support. This role is uniquely positioned for a person that wants to learn and grow within the IRC while supporting a developing department. The Global Workforce Associate will report to the Director, Global Mobility and support the Global Workforce Senior Coordinator (70%) and Global Mobility team (30%). The Global Workforce Associate position will provide administration operations and knowledge management in Location Strategy and Global Mobility as part of the Compensation, Benefits and Global Mobility team.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review recruiting documentation for global job posting to ensure alignment with IRC policy
  • Communicate and give guidance to dispersed HR teams in order to notify and confirm hiring and offer details
  • Track open roles through manual and automated reporting tools; assist in developing additional tools to improve processes and reporting
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of departmental documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Assist in resource development and update key Location Strategy documents for internal socialization across IRC audiences such as training documentation, FAQs, etc.
  • Maintain and update a catalogue of team tools and resources, including regularly engaging with content leads to ensure that all relevant materials are updated
  • Support the Global Workforce Senior Coordinator in running Location Strategy projects, tracking progress, and coordinating tasks among collaborators
  • Assist in identifying issues or challenges within the hosting process and advancing those issues to Global Workforce Senior Coordinator
  • Collaborate and build solid relationships with colleagues across IRC in support Location Strategy and Global Mobility goals
  • Prepare Cost Estimates for International assignments
  • Creation of International Assignment Extension letters
  • Track and maintain U.S. Visa databases
  • Conduct pre-assessments for US Visa sponsorship and initiate new US Visa Sponsorship requests
  • Vendor invoice management
  • Assist HR Partners, Recruiters, Managers, and employees with frequently asked questions
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

Position Reports to: Director, Global Mobility w/Management in Partnership with Global Workforce Senior Coordinator

Works Closely with: Global Workforce Senior Coordinator, Global Mobility Associate, HR Leaders and Partners, Recruitment, Compensation

Job Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 2 -3 years work experience in Human Resources, Administration, or Global Mobility
  • Experience working in a remote environment strongly preferred

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable dealing with diverse employees and management at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities concurrently
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to handle multiple, competing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work in complex environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills. As well as data analysis and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure
  • Proactive in communication, communicates well with a remote team to
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • An eagerness to understand how internal systems work in the non-profit space

Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in English required, fluency in French, Spanish or Arabic a plus

Working Environment:

  • Role is within the Global Mobility, Compensation and Benefits team
  • Location flexible, fully remote, US preferred
  • Relocation or international assignment not available

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
