Global Youth Campaigner
CONTEXT
We’re launching a highly ambitious programme of work to make the internet a healthy, safe space for children and young people. Working in collaboration with a Swiss Foundation we have developed an innovative six-year programme of work starting in January 2022. This programme of work based on Amnesty Tech’s groundbreaking digital surveillance work and embedded in Amnesty’s new Global Children & Youth Strategy. As well as delivering a global programme of work led by the IS, we are developing local projects in Ukraine, Philippines, Kenya and Argentina. In collaboration with a global community of activists, advocates and campaigners we will strive to enable real diverse children & young people’s leadership and protect their rights and well being in the digital world.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will be part of the Global Children and Youth team and will contribute to ensuring that Amnesty International’s global campaigning better reflect the diverse needs, realities and perspectives of children and young people, including but not limited to human rights violations that disproportionally affect them.
JOB PURPOSE
**To enable safe and effective youth-led campaigning and youth perspectives in global campaign strategies. To contribute to realizing Amnesty’s Global Children and Youth Strategy and the Botnar project on Children and Young People’s Digital Rights, Health and Wellbeing.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a passionate activist that will ensure meaningful children and youth engagement in human rights work. You need to have proven experience of facilitating and delivering virtual and face to face workshops and trainings for children and youth and leading campaigning projects.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Run decentralised youth-led campaigning projects. Support the participation of children and youth activists into global campaigning efforts and the community engagement of global youth networks. Facilitate youth-led advocacy and amplify children’s and youth’s voices at global intergovernmental and multi-lateral events.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with facilitating and delivering virtual and face to face workshops and trainings in international, cross cultural contexts and/or with diverse groups. Experience in youth-led campaign and/or advocacy. Track record mobilising children and young people the campaign cycle. Knowledge of children and youth inclusion.
