1. Objective
The Norwegian Refugee Council is seeking an experienced and highly motivated profile for the North Central America and Mexico (NCA&M) office with a solid background in Grants and Partnerships. The position holder will work closely with the Grants and Partnerships Manager to achieve high-quality, compliant programming among NRC partners at NCA&M through effective grant management and due diligence. The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator will also support the work of the Steering Committees, coordinate the work of the technical committee, coordinate communications with member organizations and donors to achieve the objectives of the consortium.
2. Main Responsibilities
- Act as focal point for the NRC of consortia and partnerships.
- Support the Grants and Partnerships Manager in identifying partners, assessing their capacity, developing a capacity development plan, transferring relevant NRC expertise and tools.
- Ensure effective coordination and communication between consortium members, steering and technical committees, programmatic and partner funding/support teams, donors and other stakeholders. Coordination is one of the key elements of the position.
- Support the Steering Committee of the consortia in their meetings, as requested, and implement the agreed course of action.
- Organize and coordinate in collaboration with the Grants and Partnerships Manager all operational meetings with relevant departments and partners, including the Grant Opening Meeting (GOM), Progress Review Meetings (PRMs) and Grant Closure Meeting (GCM), and ensure that the tools (spending plans, work plans, etc.) are updated.
- Coordinate monitoring of partner activities, as necessary, for information, learning and possibly advocacy purposes.
- Ensure that all official project documents and relevant communications are properly tagged and archived for audit purposes, and ensure that the NRC online grant management system is updated throughout the project cycle for all types of partners.
- Guarantee compliance and harmonization of project monitoring and evaluation tools in coordination with project monitoring staff.
- Collaborate and support the Grants and Partnerships Manager in all necessary tasks in the unit (HRP reports, 345W, proposal review, updating data on donor platforms, etc.)
3. Professional Competencies
- University degree in social sciences or related disciplines.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and/or coordination for an organization with programming responsibility in a humanitarian, conflict or post-conflict context; or the equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in project cycle management and grant management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, facilitation and diplomatic skills, including the professional credibility to provide coordination and sometimes guidance to member organizations.
- Documented results related to job responsibilities.
- Great writing and editing skills.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written, is desired.
