Grants Coordinator At International Rescue Committee

**Job Overview:**The Grants Coordinator works to leverage public and private funding opportunities through prospecting, proposal and budget development, donor management, and sub award management. The Grants Coordinator, with supervision with the Grants Manager, is responsible for conducting the full range of pre- and post-award activities required to prepare and submit institutional proposals to public and private donors across the IRC in Northern California’s four offices and Immigration programming in Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, and Turlock. The work is performed in collaboration with IRC Northern California’s leadership, development, finance, and program staff, as well as headquarters’ revenue, grants, and business development staff.

Major Responsibilities:

Primary Duties

· Coordinate proposal and budget development in alignment with donor requirements, write and edit proposal elements in collaboration with Site Leads, local program staff, Director of Finance, and headquarters staff, and ensure on-time submission of high-quality proposals.

· Manage awards through liaising with the finance team regarding fiscal and contractual questions along with headquarters’ revenue, grants, and business development staff on all new contracts, grants, amendments, and sub-grants.

· Coordinate grant opening meetings with Site Leads and program staff with finance, and support program teams to prepare interim and final reports to donors.

· In collaboration with the Grants Manager and Development Director, work with Site Leads to develop a funding strategy and timeline, as well as perform prospect research on potential public and private institutional funders.

· Maintenance of accurate and detailed electronic files for proposals, awards, subaward contracts, supporting documents with consistent documentation standards.

· Help maintain the Northern California region’s grants management calendar using Asana.

Secondary Duties (as time allows)

· Support the preparation of letters of inquiry, proposals, budgets, and reports to local foundations and other potential donors to solicit unrestricted funds in collaboration with the Development Director and Development and Communications Manager.

· Other related duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships:

· Position Reports to: Grants Manager – Northern California

· Indirect Reporting: Site Leads (Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Turlock Immigration program) Other Internal and/or External Contacts:

§ Internal: NorCal Director of Finance, Director of Development, Development and Communications Manager, Executive Director, Program Managers, HQ Resource Acquisition and Management department

§ External: Public funders and foundations

Job Requirements:

· Undergraduate degree/certificate in non-profit management or a related field or comparable work experience.

· Three+ years of professional experience in proposal writing, logframe development, and budget management preferred.

· Familiarity with refugee and immigration support services such as social work, mental and physical health, economic empowerment, and workforce development a plus.

· Ability to work autonomously while working collaboratively with different teams to meet deadlines.

· Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based applications, project management apps.

· Excellence in written and spoken English.

Working Environment:**

· This is a regionally based role; with the option of stationing in any of the Northern California offices in, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, and Turlock
