Grants & Finance Coordinator At Tearfund

Tearfund has an exciting opportunity for a Grant and Finance Coordinator to join our project in Pakistan on solid waste management in Pakistan. The Grant and Finance Coordinator will maintain a system of financial record keeping from which to provide the Project Director, field management and Tearfund Country office and UK with timely, accurate and meaningful financial management information to enable them to monitor and manage the project effectively. In accordance with Tearfund policies and guidelines, to maintain a system of sound internal controls in order to safeguard Tearfund assets, mitigate against the risk of financial loss and fraud and satisfy donor and statutory audit requirements. To ensure the programme’s financial accounting records and systems and procedures are compliant with Tearfund standards.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Qualified accountant or an appropriate finance related qualification
  • Degree or equivalent level of experience
  • Proven post qualification finance experience in humanitarian or development finance management
  • Proven experience in budgeting and budget management
  • Demonstrated experience working with accounting software and online systems
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing organisational finance compliance
  • Proven experience in donor financial reporting
  • Proven experience in managing people, building a team and in capacity building of staff

The successful applicant will also have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly in communicating complex financial data to non-finance staff
  • Solid experience of using corporate finance systems and use of products such as Excel and finance management software
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance staff
  • Ability to lead, participate and facilitate in collective staff prayer and bible studies
  • Organised with strong administrative skills
