PUI has been present in Niger since 2017, as part of its regional strategy in the Central Sahel region and since the deterioration of the security situation in the “3 borders” area, and implements health programs to help vulnerable populations. Today, PUI has a coordination office in Niamey as well as two operational bases in Ouallam and Torodi, in the Tillabéri region and an operational base in Maradi. PUI’s actions in Niger, supported by BHA and the CDCS, aim to improve access to care and strengthen monitoring and alert systems, particularly community systems, while working towards a sustainable strengthening of health structures in the Tillabéri and Maradi regions. Our teams are strengthening the health system by supporting the region’s health centers and deploying mobile clinics to facilitate access to care.
