JOB SUMMARY

The Grants officer (GC) will work under the supervision of the Program coordinator and will be responsible for managing the entire grant cycle of multiple funding programs. This includes developing and implementing grant application strategies, researching and analyzing available grants offers, drafting application letters and administrative and technical files, following up on responses from donor agencies and organizations, and drafting final reports and grant control procedures. report on active grants and process new potential partners into grantees. This may include identifying deliverables and creating appropriate agreements for field projects. Ensure complete and timely interdepartmental processing to expand current MG operations. This position will also support the programs Coordinator to identify, screen, and maintain partnerships with international donors (ECHO, AIDS, BHA, UN) alongside the program managers in the field office and maintain organization-wide adherence to meet internal and external grants management quality standards, donor guidelines, and related compliance processes.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Crafting compelling funding applications to secure income from diverse funders, both large and small scale.
  • Identify potential donors, assess partnership requirements, and align them with MedGlobal’s capabilities.
  • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information and studying the templates and all grant supported documents.
  • Maintain and expand the donor database to identify new donors and funding opportunities in line with the strategic priorities.
  • Organize decision-making meetings with all related staff to decide and evaluate the value and capacity for each new grant opportunity.
  • Promote continuous improvement of the grants process and encourage idea-sharing
  • Ensure effective channels of internal and external communications relating to grants are established and respected.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Team to implement monitoring and evaluation plans, track program progress, and share knowledge through visits and events
  • Plan and execute proposal preparation within established deadlines, maintaining high-quality standards., which include priorities, coordinating requirements, target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval and submitting.
  • Maintains a good quality proposal by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
  • Obtains approvals by reviewing proposals with key providers and project managers before submitting.
  • Monitor donor feedback following proposal submission.
  • Organize startup/ inception internally meeting to launch the new approved projects after signing the agreement.
  • Attend and present on behalf of MedGlobal in internal and external meetings.
  • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and implementing changes.
  • Review donor narrative reports to ensure that they are of high quality and are compliant with donor regulations/requirements.
  • Monitor the project tracker and project reporting grid on a regular basis and communicate project reports/proposals deadlines.
  • Contribute with the development of the program’s strategic plan and annual work plans, as required.
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies related to program funding activities
  • Represent the program at relevant meetings and events, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • University degree in public health, science, business, finance, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in administration and project management at national and international levels, preferably in public health, finance, or public administration. NGO experience is desirable.
  • Background or proven experience in project management, financial management and budget monitoring. Familiar with grants management procedures and donors relations.
  • Knowledge of funding management techniques to plan and organize program operations.
  • Knowledge of funding concepts, principles, methods, and techniques of program administration
  • Understanding of the project/grants management cycle
  • Familiarity with current issues and challenges in Global Health
  • Experience in planning and preparation of clear budget breakdown for project activities.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to deliver clear and precise reports.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, paying attention to detail, and completing tasks in a timely manner.
