MAGENTA is a leading Social and Behavioural Change (SBC) agency that specialises in understanding human decision-making processes to design solutions for relevant and impactful solutions to some of the most challenging problems of our time. MAGENTA’s Creative team operates across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the middle east on a range of projects that include research, strategy development, SBC intervention implementation, and evaluation. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join this team, driven by a keen desire to deliver social impact and who thrive in fast-paced environment.

Primary responsibilities of the GRAPHIC DESIGNER INTERN are the following (1) Creative Development, (2) Production and Implementation, (3) Learning and Feedback Processes

RESPONSIBILITIES

The GRAPHIC DESIGNER INTERN will report to the Strategic Communications Expert. Typical tasks include:

[Creative Development]

  • Assist in the creation of graphic design elements for marketing materials.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions for campaign concepts and promotional ideas.
  • Develop design prototypes and collaborate with the team on creative directions.

[Production and Implementation]

  • Support the production of a wide range of visual outputs, including detailed design reports, printed materials, ensuring they are visually engaging and communicate information clearly.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to create compelling social media graphics that align with campaign objectives and audience preferences, ensuring consistency across various platforms.
  • Assist in formatting and designing presentations, translating concepts into accessible visual stories.
  • Adapt and resize existing designs for different formats and platforms, optimizing for both digital and print mediums.

[Learning and Feedback processes]

  • Engage in regular feedback cycles with the extended team members for personal and professional growth.
  • Research current design trends and best practices to propose and implement innovative ideas that could benefit the organization’s design approach.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Relevant degree from a top tier university required; Masters preferred.

Experience:

  • No professional experience required, though any academic, project-based or relevant experiences in graphic design will be advantageous.
  • Substantial knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite…
  • Ability to work effectively, respectfully and successfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required. Good command in French is an asset.
  • Technological and software fluency, include Office 365.
