Human Resources Operations and Delivery Team

The Human Resources Operations and Delivery team in Europe provides a comprehensive HR service to a rapidly growing employee base (360 in April 2022, projected to be 400 by end of September) in the UK, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. This includes recruitment, employee data collection and data analysis, supporting design and delivery of salary and performance reviews, benefits administration, managing employment relations according to local legislation and practice, managing statutory leave requests and implementation thereof, supporting HR system infrastructure in the European locations and managing a health and wellbeing strategy.

This role will on occasion support and partner with IRC’s Resettlement, Asylum and Integration organization across Europe as well as be an active member of the global HR organisation partnering on major global efforts.

Purpose of the post

The Head of HR Operations and Delivery will support the HR Director Europe in formulating and implementing an integrated HR service strategy for locations across Europe and in aligning these with the principles and processes of IRC’s Global HR Operations agenda. They will act as a strategic leader for the HR Operations and Delivery team who are responsible for a high quality, accurate and consistent service to the business. They will lead projects relating to HR systems, processes and delivery across all locations and areas of the HR function in Europe and act as the key European representative in global HR Operations projects.

The Head of HR Operations and Delivery will develop strong relationships with their peers across the global HR function and with business stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner in all HR service processes. They will ensure that leaders across the business are fully supported by the HR services team on both a reactive and pro-active basis.

Main tasks and responsibilities

· Responsible for HR process improvements and process integration across European locations. Evaluates existing HR processes and procedures, provides recommendations for changes and improvements, and manages implementation.

· Accountable for HR system reporting and data integrity

· Responsible for the development and implementation of all HR forms and documents for IRC in Europe; strives to find solutions which are simple, integrated, effective, and automated

· Manages a team of HR operations professionals who are responsible for the delivery of best-in-class HR service

· Manages a team of European based recruiters – ensures recruitment practices are aligned with global recruitment practices and incorporate local differences

· Oversees the development of Europe specific reports from HR systems

· Leads the development and maintenance the HR RescueNet (IRC Intranet) site

· Leads projects involving HR operations and delivery, HR data, system changes, and implementation of new software

· Responsible for tracking HR budgets across all European locations

· Responsible for all vendor management – systems, benefit and pension providers, immigration specialists, training, and development providers.

Essential

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a large, complex and very active global HR team
  • Experience supporting managers with a range of HR matters
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing HR systems, policies, and procedures
  • Project management experience

Skills and Knowledge

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship with the ability to support managers and staff with the utmost in patience, understanding and sense of urgency
  • Good understanding and up-to-date knowledge of current and proposed employment law and its application through policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in systems and processes thinking with ability to identify problems and come up with solutions
  • Good recruitment skills including using LinkedIn to source candidates
  • Excellent IT skills using HRIS and MS Office applications, including Excel**
  • Good problem solving with an ability to work on own initiative, reason through problems and provide appropriate advice
  • Good communication skills with ability to communicate technical / systems information clearly and succinctly
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to review and analyse data and identify trends.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Equivalent knowledge and experience of Cornerstone, Workday and E-Days
