The Rift Valley Institute (RVI) is growing and seeks an experienced individual who has the rare combination of excellent people and culture leadership skills, practical operational experience of managing complex projects across a range of disciplines, and the ability to fundraise successfully for the Institute.
As Head of Organisational Development, reporting to the Executive Director, you will have an opportunity to shape RVI’s organisational culture, engage staff in building an inspiring place to work and effective management systems that deliver high-quality programmes contributing to the Institute’s development strategy.
You are likely to be university educated with a Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field, or have substantial relevant experience related to the areas outlined in the role. You will be a strategic thinker, able to develop long-term organisational plans that inspire colleagues to contribute to and deliver these plans. You will have first-rate knowledge of the East Africa context, excellent spoken and written English. The ability to work in another East African language will be a distinct advantage.
The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya with regular travel. Applicants should be resident in Kenya or have the right to work there.
