To manage, coordinate and implement the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation activities related to the project “Moving Urban Poor Communities Towards Resilience (MOVE UP 5 Philippines)

Key activities in your role will include

  • Objective 1: To manage, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate all activities related to the project.
    • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project activities in coordination with the DRR Coordinator, and other technical Coordinators
    • Lead in the coordination with LGU partners and other stakeholders and ensure timely implementation of the planned activities as described in the project
    • Lead in the development and implementation of capacity building training design and modules
    • Lead in the development and implementation of coaching/mentoring and sharing and learning framework among partners
    • Develop and maintain teamwork among the project team members
  • Objective 2: To prepare work plan/reports and consolidation of documents
    • Adhere to the Mission Reporting system and submit on time the reports requested
    • Contribute in the donor interim and final reports and submit following the Mission Reporting System
    • Consolidate annual technical reports of Action Against Hunger project teams and of partners
    • Develop and maintain database of photos, videos and other multimedia documents related to the project
    • Prepare meeting minutes related to the Project
    • Organize archiving of project documents for easy access to all project information
  • Objective 3: Participate to seminars, conferences activities related with DRR in the Philippines as necessary
    • As requested by Action Against Hunger and approved, alone, or together with the DRR-CCA Referent and Technical Coordinator to actively participate in DRR/climate and Self Help Group-related events
    • Disseminate relevant project information to the technical teams at Capital and Base level as necessary
    • Actively search for local capacities with potential to give and add value to the project (NGO, institutions, universities, etc.)
  • Objective 4: Feedback Reporting, Safeguarding & Security
    • Gather, consolidate and report feedback from the field/partners and beneficiaries
    • Respect the Security rules of Action Against Hunger and coordinate with the Head of Base for any security issues relating to work
    • Ensure safeguarding protocols are well observed by all staff and partners
  • Objective 5: Emergency Response
    • Be able to render service especially in emergency response in case of disasters in the Philippines.
    • Flexibility in work packages and schedule for both regular work and emergency response

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

  • Middle level or Senior Level Management Training; A degree in social science, disaster risk reduction and related trainings, facilitation and coordination Project management, monitoring and evaluation, or other related discipline (master’s degree an advantage).
  • Demonstrated excellent knowledge and experience in Project Cycle Management.
  • Excellent knowledge of budget management.
  • Good analytical skills and a good understanding of the problematic of conflict situation.
  • Knowledge in partnerships development and alliances is desirable.
  • Risk mitigation experience.
  • Strong skills in coordination, program management , mentoring , coaching and capacity building.
  • Strong Knowledge in Humanitarian/ cooperation/international relationship- Experience in managing projects with an INGO.
  • Previous experience of at least two years in a similar position, exposure and experience in assessment, monitoring, or evaluation of projects and, implementing and managing multi-sector interventions.
  • Experience in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; capacity building and project management.
  • Experience in management in insecure context with capacity to face a stressful situations.
