Head of the country measure “Green Innovation Centers”
Field of activity
The country package Mali is part of the global project “Green Innovation Centers in the Agricultural and Food Sector” (GIAE) of the special initiative “ONE WORLD without Hunger” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. It aims to contribute to sustainable rural development through innovations in selected regions of Mali. The central starting point of the project is the promotion of smallholder farms and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as the strengthening of farmer organizations and associations along the value chains, rice, potatoes / vegetables and mango.
Your tasks
- Control of the measures of the global project in Mali as part of the innovative agriculture and food security cluster as well as coherent implementation of the very complex country package
- Leading a team of qualified employees, seconded and national staff
- Coordination and networking of the activities with the projects of the cluster, especially the program for the promotion of sustainable irrigated agriculture (PASSIP)
- Integration of the country package into the sector-political dialogue in cooperation with the cluster coordination
- Participation in the development of a comprehensive national system of agricultural advice
- Advising the National Directorate for Agriculture, the networked agricultural training centers and relevant private and non-governmental actors on the development and integration of agricultural innovations in the selected value chains and in agricultural training / consulting
- Support in the conceptual development and implementation of the country package within the framework of the core topic “A world without hunger” in the field of agriculture
- Gender-sensitive impact monitoring and reporting to the person responsible for the commission of the global project in Germany
Your profile
- Completed university degree in the fields of agricultural sciences, agricultural economics, economics / business administration or social sciences related to rural development or a related subject
- Several years of professional experience in international cooperation in rural areas, preferably in francophone Sub-Saharan Africa
- Several years of experience in the management of development projects
- Several years of management experience
- Experience in working with the (European) private sector
- Good knowledge of agricultural value chains, agrobusiness, renewable energies or mechanization
- Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new contexts, exemplary intercultural sensitivity, self-organization, ability to work in a team and flexibility
- Business-fluent French and very good English and German skills training centers as well as relevant private and non-governmental actors for the development and integration of agricultural innovations in the selected value chains and in agricultural training / consulting
- Support in the conceptual further development and implementation of the country package within the framework of the core topic “A world without hunger” in the field of agriculture
- Gender-sensitive impact monitoring and reporting to the person responsible for the commission of the global project in Germany
