WATAN is seeking Head of Türkiye Mission who is responsible to manage and oversee Türkiye projects implantation and relationships requirements for WATAN and coordinate legislative efforts by working with state and local government
Tasks and Responsibilities of the Job
The role in SMT
- He or she will be a member of WATAN executive management team.
- Leading consolidation of WATAN values, vision, mission, and supporting its brand.
- Working with SMT to set up WATAN strategy and update it.
- Designing and monitoring the implementation of annual quarterly and monthly operational plans within the mission.
- Ensure periodic update to SMT about all WATAN Türkiye activity and set up needed administrative mechanism.
- plays a role in supporting the international expansion of the organization.
- Do whatever necessary to ensure the proper legal status Türkiye mission includes the legal registration and work permits for the team.
The doners relations and grant management
- Oversee the mission annual financial target and design a grant management plan to achieve it.
- Mapping potential partners and donors could support WATAN programs in Türkiye
- Collaborate with the projects director in developing high quality proposals to current and potential donors
- Ensure Donor information are up to date and stored safely ad correctly
- Ensure that there is a clear and documented communication strategy for each donor with power map and WATAN goal of the relationship
- Ensure effective communication with donors in a documented and systematic manner.
- Ensure all Marketing tools updated and in place
The stakeholders relations
- Ensure WATAN has strong and healthy government relation in all levels can facilitate it mission
- Identify key government actors and appropriate approach routes for NGO communications and relationship building
- Collaborate with liaison department to develop and implement standard operating procedures for government liaison management
- Map out, and work to build and maintain strong working relationships with, district and provincial level government actors on behalf of WATAN
- Regularly coordinate with Liaison staff from other INGOs and national NGOs in order to ensure inter-agency learning.
- Represent WATAN in related working groups and other stakeholder or coordination meetings, as needed, and maintain a positive, continuous, and visible presence for WATAN.
- Ensure all work needed protocols signed and in place.
The projects management
- Support project managers in guaranteeing the quality and consistency of their projects.
- Assist with tasks relating to program development and implementation, including assessments, reporting, and audit exercises.
- Support with tasks relating to visitors from WATAN or donor representatives
The team and area management
- Ensure the presence of well-functioning team through collaboration with Human resources in hiring gap positions and put a development plan for current staff
- Ensure all mission staff are covered financially by the available resources and include their salaries properly in the project’s budgets
- Supervise area managers in developing and maintaining well-functioning area offices in Türkiye
Abilities and Personal Skills
- Minimum Education Degree: Bachelor’s degree in administration, Law or relevant.
- Minimum 5 years professional and proven experience in project implementation and liaison with government.
- Travel Availability: Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Turkish. Arabic is desirable Excellent relationship building and maintenance skills
- Experience working with provincial- and district-level government authorities, community leaders and civil society organizations
- Strong networking capability and diplomacy skills
- Ability to develop capacity building frameworks and work plans
- Commitment to, and good knowledge of, creating efficient, independent partner organizations, through effective capacity building and learning and development activities
- Commitment to WATAN’s policies of promoting gender equity and diversity and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of WATAN’s work
- Experience working in emergency situations
- Ability to work in flexible time arrangements according to the work load
