Head Partnerships – Thailand and Laos

Together as a team, we at Child’s Dream are here to empower people in the Mekong-Sub-Region. We do this by working in partnerships with communities to improve the health and education of their children, youth and young adults for sustainable development.

Our Partnerships Team – Thailand and Laos needs your support with the programme management of various education partnerships in Laos, Thailand and along the Thai – Myanmar border.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

Shape and develop our partnerships strategy

  • Support the development and implementation of our partnerships strategy in Laos, Thailand and the border areas
  • Ensure that the strategy is aligned to the organisation’s strategy and that existing and new partnerships contribute to our strategic goals

Partnership management

  • Oversee and guide the team in managing their partnerships independently
  • Manage and control budgets and the team’s administrative expenses in accordance with the budget approved and internal budget regulations
  • Support the preparation of programme agreements for approval by the Country Director and Managing Director – Programmes
  • Monitor and evaluate our partners’ activities, outputs and outcomes
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with our partners
  • Guide our partners and strengthen their capacity through close collaboration, open communication, and capacity building
  • Provide regular feedback and updates on current or potential programmes to the Country Director and the Managing Director – Programmes
  • Identify, initiate and evaluate new programmes and partnerships and defend proposals in Project Evaluation Committee
  • Conduct field visits as part of monitoring, problem-solving and managing partnerships (30% of your working time)

  • Lead the partnerships team by example and with empathy
  • Build a strong team spirit
  • Promote the capacity of each team member
  • Develop and maintain a strong feedback culture in the team and with our partners

Maintain and grow a strong network

We are looking for a person with

  • a strong passion for the empowerment of people in the Mekong-Sub-Region and for the NGO sector,
  • a graduate diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent education,
  • previous work experience of minimum 7 years as a programme manager in the NGO sector or related field,
  • knowledge of the context and problems of education in Thailand and Laos,
  • strong partnership management experience,
  • advanced knowledge in programme cycle management and budgeting,
  • great leadership skills to form a working environment where the team can perform at its best,
  • the ability to accept, implement and give constructive feedback,
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • great attention to detail and a critical mind,
  • excellent organisational and time-management skills,
  • ability to work in a diverse cultural and linguistic environment,
  • highly proficient written and verbal English language skills,
  • good command of Thai language,
  • Burmese and other ethnic language skills are beneficial,
  • a Drivers license.
