Its objective is to ensure and promote the implementation of health and nutrition care with quality and relevance, as well as planning to achieve the objectives and goals of the project, guaranteeing quality in the information collected at the counterpart and team level. implementation technician, carrying out periodic reports and monitoring of processes, procedures and necessary controls.

The main activities you will perform are the following:

Objective 1: Lead the strategic implementation of the multisector project in the localities, including monitoring, follow-up and reporting of the implementation.

  • Work in close cooperation with the implementation team of the project counterpart, in all services of comprehensive health activities as well as other areas to guarantee the relevance of the activities.
  • Ensure quality in the execution of the project’s health and nutrition activities, by accompanying the technical implementation teams of the counterpart in the identified intervention areas.
  • Ensure that the processes of detection, timely management, referral and follow-up of patients with complications by the technical implementation team of the counterpart are carried out effectively and under the guidelines of ACH and Cluster Protocol, reporting in a timely manner in the event of obstacles in the reference path.
  • Ensure that nutrition and health protocols and guidelines are consistent and are used, respected and implemented by the counterpart implementation team in accordance with Action Against Hunger policies.
  • Support and guide the activities of the project’s educational strategy in accordance with the ACH guidelines, respecting the intercultural and differential approach.
  • Strengthen the technical capabilities of the counterpart’s implementation team, through an analysis of training needs, preparation and execution of a training plan, with monitoring and support
  • Responsible for carrying out a monitoring plan on the processes, procedures and controls with specific technical guidelines for health and nutrition activities, within the standards of humanitarian action and the ACH mandate.
  • Monitor the health, nutritional and humanitarian situation of vulnerable areas/populations/communities in the project coverage area, using primary and external sources (communities, donors, multilateral agencies, government, other NGOs, etc.) and internal sources.
  • Accompanies and supports the periodic review of the operation of the project’s pharmacy management processes, as well as the consumption of medications and supplies, alerts/stock ruptures and the purchase or donation forecast.
  • Know, promote, implement and follow at all times universal hygiene standards/precautions, biohazard prevention and infection control, safety rules and other protocols in medical facilities and ensure that high hygiene standards are met in your work environment .

OBJECTIVE 2: Accompany counterparts towards achieving objectives and meeting goals with quality.

  • Continuously accompany the counterpart in the field, in order to promote teamwork, collaboration, coordination and exchange of experiences, ideas, work methodologies and the collective creation of comprehensive strategies
  • Design comprehensive work plans together with the counterpart’s technical implementation team, with the support of the project manager, that clearly define: the required contributions, objectives, expected results, and goals to be achieved.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms for regular monitoring of counterparts and the technical implementation team, sharing key improvement opportunities, providing feedback and following up on action plans.
  • Under the principles of confidentiality and the data protection policy, exchange with the ACH multidisciplinary team the results of evaluations, support plans, needs detected in the field.
  • Promotes Monitoring and Evaluation mechanisms among counterparts and field teams, to maintain accurate records (means of verification) and support them in monitoring and development activities.

OBJECTIVE 3: Strengthen the external relations of the projects with local actors related to the sectors of interest.

  • When required, you will attend specific meetings such as local coordination mechanisms at ACH or other specialized clusters of interest in the service area.
  • Systematically writes minutes of meetings, reporting them in the NHF space designated for this purpose with the aim of maintaining traceability.
  • Participates in the creation and updated maintenance of the database of the main actors and external allies in their work area and/or others in assigned missions.
  • Prepare an easily updated mapping of actors on primary health care services (SRH, SMAPS, Health, Nutrition) and response to protection cases where the project is implemented.
  • Establish articulation and coordination with governmental and non-governmental organizations in matters of health and nutrition together with the Project Manager.

Does this description fit you?

  • University studies in Medicine and/or Nutrition, university diploma in nutrition or medicine with experience in public health and community health actions.
  • Experience in implementation, planning and monitoring of primary health care, Nutrition and Sexual and Reproductive Health programs.
  • Experience and mastery in the implementation of nutritional and health surveillance systems, technical, ethical, administrative, legal and safety standards, policies and procedures of national health authorities.
  • Familiar with conflict resolution and community work techniques.
  • Ability to work with counterparts and/or partners
  • Preparation of dissemination materials and systematization documents
  • Skills for planning tasks, developing field activities and preparing reports. Staff training
  • Desirable experience in promotion and prevention activities at the community level.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the area of ​​nutrition or health.
  • Desirable knowledge of the work context in the Portuguesa state and its communities.
