Job Description:
A major player in the social and solidarity economy, the French Red Cross manages a network of more than 600 establishments and services in the health, medico-social and training sectors. She is also at the head of 12 regional health and social training institutes.
Internationally, the CRF operates in 16 countries alongside National Societies and 2 regional platforms (PIRAC and PIROI), on the following themes: Health and Disaster Risk Management.
In the same way as in the professions that it develops and implements in France, the French Red Cross internationally places all its missions in a sustainable humanitarian action plan. This results in an articulation of emergency, post-emergency, crisis exit and reconstruction activities aimed at maximum efficiency. The objective is to carry out actions with lasting effects and to allow populations to regain their complete autonomy.
Our association also wants to strengthen its presence and the promotion of its priority commitments within the International Movement.
By joining us, you will share our commitment and ethics and develop your skills.
CRf intervention in the area
The Democratic Republic of Congo, the second largest country in Africa, is now home to more than 90 million inhabitants. A population that is growing sharply and facing a prolonged multi-sector crisis. The challenges are immense, both at the epidemiological level, access to water, sanitation and health, and in terms of protection or food insecurity.
The French Red Cross has been operating in the DRC since 1979 as part of a partnership with the Red Cross of the Democratic Republic of Congo (CRRDC). From the 2000s, the CRf has had a delegation (permanent office) in Kinshasa, and mainly carries out health projects in the former Bandundu. From 2018, the organization is intensifying its interventions, with projects focused on the Prevention and Control of Infections (PCI) of epidemiological diseases, Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) measures and support for staff and health centers .
The CRf intervened in the East of the DRC in the response to the 10th Ebola epidemic to support health structures in Infection Prevention and Control (PCI) and WASH, consolidated during the 11th epidemic with response teams from emergency, and the Covid-19 Response in North and South Kivu.
Today, the CRF has coordination in Kinshasa, and a sub-delegation in Bukavu (South Kivu) opened in 2022, which supervises an operational base in Uvira (South Kivu). Furthermore, it is planned to move coordination from Kinshasa to Bukavu, in January 2024, for operational reasons.
