Position Summary:
The health coordinator will be responsible for Community Health & Hygiene Promotion and nutrition components as part of health program RI implementing in NWS. Health coordinator will help with implementation and monitoring of RI projects in NWS, primarily focusing on community health & hygiene promotion and nutrition.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Supervise nutrition and CHW teams based in the field.
· Develop a community health worker (CHW) training program, including the production of creative and relevant education messages in coordination with CHW TWG using WHO curriculum for CHWs in NWS as a reference.
· Meet with staff regularly to provide briefing on proposed activities, implementation and monitoring plan and roles and responsibilities of each team member
· Build the capacity of staff to implement best practice in health & nutrition and hygiene practices
· Develop a monitoring and evaluation and supervision system to quantify and verify the activities in coordination with nutrition and community health senior officer.
· Facilitate joint supervisions with other departments’ team of RI to monitor progress and review performance of RI work on outreach and nutrition (IYCF+ CMAM+ nutrition screening).
· Provide the required technical support to the nutrition and community health senior officer.
· Follow-up and supervise the work of CHWs and nutritionists on daily basis.
· Interface closely with the WASH team to ensure key messages are consistent
· Attend regular meetings with the project administration when requested by line manager.
· Support in conducting initial needs assessments and determining areas of assistance in coordination with line managers and other departments.
· Assist in data collection and oversee the process to ensure high quality reporting of progress against proposal indicators and program quality indicators (this includes CMAM quality indicators).
· Interpret data collected on CHWs and Nutrition components as required and present it to line manager.
· Compile the CHWs, routine immunization and nutrition monthly activities reports from the field, conduct data analysis to inform decision making and implementation.
· Help review and update all program outreach and resource materials to reflect comprehensive program activities.
· Develop case studies, success stories, best practice reports and key lessons from CHW and nutrition components’ implementation on regular basis
· Help cultivate a shared vision, among all staff, of RI’s CHWs and nutrition program aims.
· Assist to promote and encourage community participation in and ownership of health and nutrition activities at the community level.
· Represent RI in nutrition cluster meetings when requested by line manager.
· Where appropriate, work closely with partner organizations in completing the above tasks.
· Attend regular meetings of SIG, CHW, IYCF and CMAM TWG meetings and share discussion points with line manager thus important points could presented to SMT.
· All other duties and tasks assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
· Medical degree or at the minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject such as nursing, midwifery with additional experience to compensate for incomplete degree requirements.
· Able to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines.
· Flexible in schedule, attitude, and work processes.
· Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
· Excellent English and Arabic skills required. Turkish is a plus.
· Able to exercise sound judgment
· Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
· Able to relate to and motivate staff effectively.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google software, particularly Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, MS Word and MS Excel. Adobe suite preferred.
· Previous NGO experience in a similar context is a plus.
