Focus on the Technical & Capitalization Department
The Technical & Capitalization Department is made up of 13 people. The STC is the guarantor of the development and compliance with policies and sectoral intervention frameworks in line with PUI’s sectors of intervention. He supports teams at headquarters and in the field to improve the technical quality of the interventions carried out. The STC intervenes transversally in all the organization’s missions with a focus on 3 specific objectives: technical and programmatic support for operations through technical and strategic support, capitalization and technical standardization, strengthening of technical capacities organisation.
And the Health Representative in all this?
As a Health Referent, under the responsibility of the Deputy Technical and Capitalization Service Manager – Public Health, you will ensure the quality of Health and Nutrition programs in the field and you will strengthen the capacities of the teams. You will work on the capitalization, practical guides and positioning of Première Urgence Internationale en Santé et Nutrition.
To this end, your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Country and headquarters health strategy: You will ensure the quality of programs as well as compliance with medical ethics and the humanitarian principles of the Association. You will ensure compliance with the Association’s Health policy and intervention framework. You will participate in the development and implementation of technical service programming.
- Capitalization and standardization: You will ensure the capitalization and dissemination on the missions of the procedures, practices and know-how linked to the Health projects implemented on the missions. You will contribute to the dissemination of innovative projects and the use of new communication and information technologies on missions.
- Technical and programmatic support: You will provide strategic and technical support to field teams during the different phases of the project cycle, for regular, exploration and emergency missions. You will participate in the implementation of the integrated approach on missions. You will provide support for the missions of the operational center on technical questions and you will provide support for setting up projects in their health dimension. You will provide technical support for the reflection and implementation of a contingency plan for emergency responses. You will provide technical supervision of health teams and/or you will participate directly in exploratory missions on emergencies. You will be in charge of validating the technical relevance of pharmaceutical and medical equipment orders issued by the missions monitored.
- Monitoring and evaluation: You will participate in the reflection and formalization of tools to serve missions: Epidemiological monitoring/watch, medical procedures, intervention guidelines, tools for assessing health needs, research and dissemination of medical articles. You will support and validate the methodologies of impact surveys and medical evaluations carried out on missions.
- Human resources: You will participate in the recruitment of health profiles, you will participate in their briefings and debriefing at departure and return from mission and you will participate in their training. You will also participate in the development and updating of health policy documents for expatriates and national employees. You will carry out technical professional assessment interviews for health coordinators.
- Representation and coordination: You will ensure the representation of the association to other partners from a technical point of view on public health issues. You will support the missions by representing the association to donors or others if necessary.
The challenges that await you:
The Health and Nutrition Representative divides his/her time between technical support to missions and other headquarters departments and monitoring at the institutional level the quality of program implementation. He ensures the quality of Health and Nutrition programs in the field and strengthens the capacities of the teams. He/She ensures the integration of the sectors of activity by liaising with the other members of the STC team. He/She works on capitalization, technical framing and implementation documents and the positioning of Première Urgence Internationale as a humanitarian actor implementing the integrated approach.
What you will need to succeed
Training
You can provide proof of an initial diploma in Health (Doctor, nurse, midwife, pharmacy, etc.). A degree in public health will be a plus!
Experience
You have at least 3 years of experience in an international solidarity NGO in the management and implementation of Health projects and in the technical coordination of Health/Nutrition activities on mission. Have you already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? This will be an undeniable asset!
SKILLS
Do you have good knowledge of running training courses for adults? This position is made for you!
Required qualities
You show a good spirit of analysis and synthesis, are a good communicator, both written and oral, have a taste for teamwork and training skills. You demonstrate responsiveness, flexibility, adaptability, organization, and have good resistance to stress.
LANGUAGES
Do you speak French and English fluently? This is essential for this position!

PUI will offer you
Status frame
Salary: 3300 EUR gross monthly over 12 months
Medical coverage: 100% from health and welfare mutual insurance
Coverage: Coverage of 50% of the transport ticket and up to 60% of the Restaurant Tickets (with a face value of €10)
Rest : 5 weeks of paid leave per year + 1 RTT per month (37 hours/week)
