one. Objective
The objective of the position of Security Assistant is to maintain communications and follow-up of personnel missions in order to monitor movements in areas of operations in Mexico; as well as monitoring mission needs, transmitting information related to early security alerts, and supporting rapid response to incidents. The position also supports the HSS Coordinator in applying the minimum security requirements for assigned areas.
2. Main responsibilities
- Track agendas and security conditions on the ground
- Maintenance of time matrices and movements of routes demissions
- Maintenance of communications groups and other means of communication via data
- Support the development of maps or mapping of the location of officials, facilities, reference points ( hospitals, police, firefighters ) etc.
- Follow up and share relevant security news, monitoring alerts from national and international bodies
- Share security alerts and recommendations in specific cases
- Diligent monitoring report sheets
- Assistance in developing and updating the security incident database
- Support in the application of minimum security requirements for infrastructure and equipment
- Accompany visits by program staff if necessary
3. Professional Competences
- Newly graduated professional in communications, security and risk management, political science / social sciences and / or related disciplines.
- Minimum two ( 2 ) years of experience in a similar responsibility
- Work experience in similar positions in the context of humanitarian aid.
- Verifiable experience related to position responsibilities
- Knowledge of basic communication protocols for monitoring staff movements in real time
- Ability to learn about security standards and protocols.
- Intermediate written and verbal level in the English language
