Human Resources Administration and IT Director

As a member of the Rwanda and Burundi Senior Management Team (SMT) the Director of HR, Administration & IT shares in the overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of the Country Office (CO). He/she is accountable to the Country Director for the provision of effective HR and administrative services in both emergencies and development programming contexts.

The HR, Admin and IT Director will also dedicate 30% of her/his time on regional assignments

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

Essential

  • Masters and/or postgraduate specialisation in Human Resources or Business Administration (MBA) with specialisation in Human Resources
  • Recommended a minimum of 10 years of management experience in a corporate or an NGO environment, including experience in the development of strategic and operational support services plans and their implementation in a professional work environment over a sustained period of time
  • Critical and analytical thinking, decision making and strategic planning skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to plan and organize a substantial workload that includes complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities in both development and emergency contexts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowing French is an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and make difficult decisions during through periods of change
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, delegate, coach and mentor both individuals and teams.
  • Competent level skills in HRIS (Taleo & Oracle), IT applications, & Project Management system,
  • Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives and values

Contract duration: Open-ended

Location: Kigali Rwanda, with 25% trips in sub and field office
