Human Resources Generalist II At American Bar Association

Provides support and instruction for a broad spectrum of Human Resources functional areas. This includes but is not limited to Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, Organizational Design, Affirmative Action, and Training.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

● Assists with implementation and administration of annual Human Resources Processes such as performance reviews, merit and promotion cycles, benefits open enrollment, and mandatory trainings; responding to employee questions, counseling managers, and ensuring accuracy of information.

● Respond to employee inquiries, and coach and counsel first-line supervisors and managers according to defined policies and procedures; referring only complex matters to HR management.

● Responsible for the full cycle Talent Acquisition in various departments. Accountable for day-to-day, administrative oversight of the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure the accuracy of all job postings, compliance with EEO/AA, talent acquisition metrics, and TA manager satisfaction.

● Provide professional-level assistance on compensation and benefits activities, field employee questions, assist in responding to vendor requests, and ensure the completion and distribution of confirmation materials.

● Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of employee files and, when appropriate, respond to requests for documents from such files according to ABA policies and procedures.

● Create and track internal metrics; comparing internal metrics to external best practices and identify areas of potential process improvement.

● Assist in ensuring approved guidelines and processes are followed to maintain compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

● Performs other related duties as required.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

● Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, OR equivalent experience of at least 6 years in Human Resources, OR combined education and Human Resources’ experience of at least 6 years

● At least two years’ experience working in a human resources office environment in at least two of the following specialties: Talent Acquisition, Training, HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, or Employee Relations.

● At least two years’ experience using an HRIS system, Excel, and PowerPoint to fulfill work requirements.

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

● Previous experience utilizing Dayforce HRIS.

● Professional Human Resources Certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.
