What Young Peacebuilders (YP) Does

YP develops partnerships, research, projects, and tools that nurture peacebuilding passion and skill in children and youth with a focus on contexts impacted by armed conflict. In this way YP helps prevent and end cycles of violence. We also help design effective child and youth peacebuilding projects and research for others. We want to see a major shift in the dominant method of addressing contemporary conflicts toward investing in young people as peacebuilders.

Role Overview

The HR Manager will be responsible to maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary depending upon duration of one’s commitment, number of hours committed, interests, skills, and experience. We ensure responsibilities increase along with one’s skill level.

  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Manage HR Associates within the HR Team
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Ensures the posting on new openings in YP at all advertising mediums.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Ensures industry compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable standard HR practices; and maintaining records
  • Support the HR Director in maintaining and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning HR Associates; following up on work results.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your line manager

  • Over 4 Years Experience Working in HUman Resources Function
  • Experience working with Google Docs
  • Experience working independently
  • Experience Using ERP systems.
  • Experience Managing People Remotely
  • HR Policy Development Experience
  • Experience working in INGO/humanitarian context.
