Human Resources Manager – Regional Response, Ukraine At Save the Children

The Opportunity

The HR Manager plays a key role in ensuring high quality, timely HR support both to the regional office HR team and HR Colleagues in Save the Children International’s responses to the Ukraine crisis (currently structured as the Ukraine Conflict Response in Ukraine, Poland and the Regional Refugee Response in neighbouring countries).

Drawing on a range of resources (MEEE RO HR team, global resources, etc), this position ensures the provision of timely, contextually relevant backstopping and hands on support to response staff and ensures effective linkages across response locations on key HR initiatives. The role ensures overall management of all aspects of HR processes and procedures across the response as well as coordination of HR staff, relevant SMT members, support staff and wellbeing services. This position will play a key role in ensuring streamlined communication outward to the wider SC movement, as well as coordinating effectively with key staff in the RO team.

The position may include travel to SCI’s Ukraine response locations.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Essential

* A human resource management/development qualification from a credible institution (such as CIPD)

* Prior NGO experience at management level within a complex country programme in emergency response/humanitarian environments

* Proven operational HR track-record – experience of providing a senior generalist HR service to managers across a full range of HR issues

* Excellent skills in handling and advising on complex people management issues

* Experience of and well developed skills in recruitment and selection

* Good attention to detail

* Understanding staff care for humanitarian staff, in particular approaches to welfare, stress, R&R and debriefing

* Good facilitation skills and ability to deliver induction briefing/training

* Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English, with experience in managing multicultural teams

* Experience using Taleo system

Desirable

* Experience of a range of assessment techniques (including assessment centres)

* Fluent in Arabic, Ukrainian, Polish or Russian.
