Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must have and be able to retain the legal right to work in the above-mentioned locations. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in an Oxfam location.

*The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a Humanitarian Director who will contribute to Oxfam’s global objectives by providing vision, strategic direction and operational oversight to all of Oxfam’s humanitarian work. This includes the commitment to greater local humanitarian leadership, safe programming, PSEA, strong community engagement & accountability as well as implementing a feminist humanitarian approach. The Humanitarian Director will work collaboratively with others to develop programmes that address the humanitarian-development nexus. As Oxfam’s most senior humanitarian, the Director will also represent Oxfam to the global humanitarian sector.

*Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a strategic leader with a proven track record and field experience especially in the Global South, at a senior level, of managing large scale response strategies in a range of complex humanitarian crises (natural, conflict, slow onset etc.) including managing and motivating multidisciplinary, multicultural and geographically dispersed teams. We look forward to hearing from individuals with working knowledge and experience of the humanitarian rights framework, including international humanitarian law (IHL) and protection issues as well as good knowledge and experience with gender analysis and partnership relations.
