Purpose of the post
The ICT Specialist 2 position in Tashkent provides direct ICT support for all the ICRC offices in Central Asia except for Dushanbe, where s/he will act as a backup for the ICT Specialist based there.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Independently installs, maintains, repairs and monitors ICT equipment in line with ICRC standards.
- As a part of global support services handles L2 tickets or escalates as per agreed workflow.
- Ensures existing ICT infrastructure is functional.
- Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Briefs, advises and trains end-users and peers on the ICRC’s ICT systems.
- Ensures inventory is updated as per procedures and carries out regular physical checks.
- Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.
- Provides day-to-day technical support to end-users of desktop applications, telephones, printers, computers or any other ICT standard equipment.
- Maintains contacts with suppliers/providers and follows ICRC logistics and ICT procedures.
- May be called upon to train ICT teams.
Desired profile and skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT, electronics, computer science, telecommunications or similar field.
- Good level (spoken and written) of English.
- Proven transversal ICT knowledge.
- Minimum 3 years’ troubleshooting experience in any area of the ICRC ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.).
- 1 year of people-management experience a strong asset.
- Availability to travel and carry out regular short missions to other sites in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan upon request.
