JOB DESCRIPTION
This position assumes the functions of psychosocial and gender support manager at PBI Colombia.
RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SOCIAL FABRIC
- Develop a fluid relationship with the NGOs and communities accompanied, which allows coordinating their needs in the psychosocial field.
- Coordinate and carry out the preparation, facilitation and monitoring of workshops for the reconstruction of the social fabric, providing psychosocial and protection tools with a comprehensive approach (with support / coordination with the relevant areas), adjusted to the needs of each organization.
- Systematize the workshops that are taught, and make a report on them.
- Structure dynamics and content of workshops to work with communities, rural and urban organizations.
- Lead the implementation of the psychosocial strategy in a transversal manner in the comprehensive protection of PBI to human rights defenders.
- Participate monthly in the psychosocial table.
- Be in charge of managing external agreements – referrals and attention to project people.
- Participate in the construction of care and monitoring proposals within the organization.
- Maintain fluid and coordinated communication with other psychosocial work organizations with victims of political violence.
- Attend events and commemorative events of the accompanied organizations, as well as participate in platforms that articulate psychosocial care organizations in Colombia.
INNER WORKINGS
- Lead the psychosocial monitoring of the members of the PBI Colombia team, lead the Psycho Committee and strengthen the psycho links of the field teams.
- Participation in Training Processes of new members of the project.
- Lead the organization of individual entry and exit talks (with team coordination).
- Internal training for PBI Colombia teams on issues of psychosocial support, gender and racism.
- Lead the Care Working Group -GT- (4 times a year)
- Coordinate, with Project Coordination, the development and implementation of the Gender,
anti-colonial and anti-racist Policies of the Project, with an intersectional approach. - Lead, with Project Coordination, the mainstreaming of the gender, anti-colonial and anti-racist approach within PBI Colombia and in its protection work.
- Maintain fluid communication with all parties of the Project and the Organization to contribute to
issues and decisions related to their work area. - Monthly participation in the Bogotá Interteam Committee (Cibo) for the exchange of
current and protection information with a comprehensive approach within PBI Colombia. - Assume, on a rotating basis, the guard, which requires the ability to respond to emergencies that may arise in our teams or our accompanied people. These emergencies must be attended to 24 hours a day for approximately one week per month that the guard is on duty (this guard is shared between 5 people in the project).
- Participate in the monitoring and evaluation mechanisms of the area, as well as the design of financing proposals and financial reports related to the psychosocial area and the gender approach.
- Stay informed, through internal and public readings, about the current situation in the country, with
particular focus on the situation of human rights and the social movement with a psychosocial perspective. - Contribute to the continuous, semi-annual and annual situation analysis.
PROFILE: BASIC REQUIREMENTS TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Minimum age to apply for the position: 25 years*.
- High level of the English language*.
- Nationality: Citizenship of the European Union or Switzerland*.
- Willingness to make a commitment of a minimum of two years*.
- Have university studies in Psychology, Sociology or similar, having demonstrated experience in psychosocial care.
- Training/experience in gender and intersectional approach.
- Ability to take initiatives and be proactive.
- Minimum of 3 years of pedagogical experience with organizations and communities, in the field of
design and facilitation of collective spaces. - Experience of psychosocial work with an intersectional approach with
communities will be positively valued. - Knowledge of protection tools in contexts of sociopolitical violence will be valued.
- Experience in Conflict Resolution will be valued.
- Experience working with communities and human rights organizations in Latin America, desirable.
- Political vision of the conflict in Colombia and knowledge of the human rights situation in the country.
- Proficiency in Spanish both in writing, reading and oral.
- High degree of responsibility and commitment to PBI Colombia and those accompanied.
- Ability to work as a team and make decisions by consensus.
- Great capacity for active listening and empathy.
