We are seeking a dynamic and engaged individual to enhance partnerships in Europe in support of refugee protection and solution.
In close liaison with the Senior Partnership Officer, the Education Officer and the Data, Identity Management and Analysis (DIMA) Team of the UNHCR Regional Bureau for Europe based in Geneva, the Partnership Associate will support the rollout of the online Stakeholder Mapping Tool in pilot countries and provide remote support to relevant UNHCR focal points at country level. The Partnership Associate will also facilitate the establishment of a regional academic network in Europe.
Duties and Qualifications
As part of a first stream of work:
Build the capacity of selected UNHCR Offices on the use of the Stakeholder Mapping Tool, including by organising online training sessions;
Provide guidance and technical support on a need-basis to UNHCR Offices in complement to existing training efforts;
Provide support to the country offices in preparing f existing repositories of stakeholders (e.g. using standard Excel template) into the Stakeholder Mapping database;
Identify and report on challenges and gaps in the use of the tool to inform a technical adjustment of the Stakeholder Mapping Tool by the service provider, as well as provide feedback to the service provider to further improve the tool performance
Review and adjust on a need-basis the existing User Guide for the Stakeholder Mapping Tool;
Assist selected UNHCR Offices with their planning, and more specifically with their country-level (or multi-country) situation analysis including a stakeholder mapping.
As part of a second stream of work:
Map out European universities, academic alliances, and research institutions with an interest in refugee, other forced displacement, and statelessness issues, using UNHCR¿s Stakeholder Mapping Tool;
Support the organisation of the first meeting of the European Academic Network including by disseminating invitations, supporting the facilitation and drafting of a short report;
Finalise the detailed concept note for the European Academic Network outlining concrete objectives and outcomes for 2022 based on an initial draft, in liaison with relevant colleagues and partners.

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required
a. Work Experience
Proven experience in project management or oversight.
Proven experience in data analysis and management of online databases.
Proven experience in managing a diverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrate ability to coordinate teams, including remotely.
Demonstrate experience in training and capacity building of teams.
Previous experience with refugee protection and/or with human rights would be an asset, along with a professional experience in education and/or with academia.

Language Requirements
Fluency in English with advanced writing and editing skills and working knowledge of another UN language.
Additional Information
Location
The successful candidate will be home-based.
Conditions
The contract starts as soon as possible and the latest on 01 January 2022 and will end on 30 June 2022. There is a possibility to contract for a maximum of 12 months subject to the satisfactory performance of the consultant and a review and assessment of progress and the remaining workload after the initial contract period.
