Information Management Coordinator, LAC At HIAS

HIAS is seeking an Information Management Coordinator, LAC to support its Latin American and Caribbean programs. This person will be developing, planning and implementing information management tools about trends, context and HIAS services to respond to regional and country needs in LAC. The incumbent will collect, organize, analyze and disseminate the information required to support the programs and advocacy activities. The incumbent will work closely with colleagues across the Strategy & Measurement department, regional teams, country office colleagues and technical departments in the process of identifying key information gaps, undertaking relevant analysis and developing information collection and management tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implements and regularly updates the Information Management Strategy and the Dissemination Plan for HIAS in LAC.
  • Closely coordinates with Programs staff (technical, country offices and regional teams), as well as the Strategy & Measurement and IT departments, to ensure that the purpose and use of aggregated data collected at HIAS is clear.
  • Coordinates with national and regional MEAL roles to ensure consistency and coherence in information collection and analysis.
  • Organizes and manages aggregated data collected by HIAS in LAC about trends, displacement situations and HIAS services, and conducts initial analysis of the data on a regular basis to inform programs and advocacy activities.
  • Analyzes the external landscape of data available in LAC about displacement situation and humanitarian needs in the region to make sure data produced and analyzed by HIAS is cross-referenced and not duplicative of what UN, donors and sister organizations are producing in LAC.
  • Identifies new context analysis information and data requirements to support HIAS’ programs in the region, and supports country offices in gathering and sharing this information and data.
  • Based on the data collected, conducts secondary data review on needs and gap identification for HIAS’ areas of expertise in the LAC region.
  • Works with country office teams, MEAL and LAC technical and regional teams to standardize data collection tools and reports produced as part of different grants, such as protection monitoring reports and tools, among others.
  • Develops new data collection and data analysis tools if needed, in close coordination with Strategy & Measurement colleagues, including efficient data capturing forms.
  • Generates ‘On-Demand’ data analysis, synthesis and reports based on donors’ and internal requirements.
  • Proactively gathers information from relevant partners, UN agencies and other organizations which may be of use by HIAS to inform programs and decisions.
  • Participates in inter-agency meetings as required, representing HIAS, and provides the necessary support in presenting the relevant data and information on behalf of HIAS.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field required; graduate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong analytical and critical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently, manage time and execute tasks.
  • Experience working in humanitarian and refugee settings is a must.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian coordination system, including relevant coordinating bodies, key actors and clusters.
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience working with data and information management.
  • Working experience with mobile data collection tools, such as KOBO or ODK, is desirable.
  • Humanitarian and field-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in fast changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
  • Previous experience working in the LAC region and in non-profit sector is a plus.

Note, this is a temporary position that starts ASAP and ends December 29, 2023. This position is based in the LAC region in countries where HIAS has existing operations.
