Project: UNICEF Emergencies

Organization

iMMAP France is an international non-profit organization whose role is to provide information management services to humanitarian and development organizations, enabling partners to make informed decisions that ultimately provide high-quality targeted assistance to the most vulnerable populations. of the world. iMMAP France turns data into information and creates knowledge for decision-makers operating in conflict, disasters, post-disaster and recovery environments, as well as other complex emergency situations and development contexts.

Project context

Since 2018, the National Government requested support and technical cooperation from the United Nations System in Colombia, to join forces in addressing the emergency derived from the mixed migratory flow of the Venezuelan population. I support that UNICEF has focused on an annual Response Plan (HAC).

In turn, the current challenges due to multiple-affect emergencies (armed conflict and natural disasters) demonstrate the need for a comprehensive HAC that responds to the specific needs of the territory. In the construction and implementation of this plan, the need for UNICEF to consolidate evidence and strengthen the management and handling of information for effective strategic planning has arisen, through:

• Information products that facilitate timely and accurate decision-making in accordance with national and territorial contexts.

• Identification of sectoral needs and challenges that can be addressed from an intersectoral perspective, including information on the needs of the affected communities.

• Carry out analysis of territorial information that allows for a vision of the situation of children and adolescents.

• Have information products that allow disseminating the results of the implementation of emergency response plans.

• Identify and position priority issues regarding the situation of children at the national and territorial level.

• Have information products that allow for advocacy processes at the institutional level and resource management with potential donors.

In this sense, 3iSolution has been supporting the country office to strengthen its information management and management processes, achieving more timely and quality information products in relation to its response plan and its interagency leadership, positioning priority issues on the situation of Children and Adolescents at the national and territorial level, and optimize processes for reporting the humanitarian response of UNICEF and its implementing partners.
