Information Technology Manager, Iraq Civil Society Activity At Counterpart International

Counterpart International is currently seeking an Information Technology (IT) Manager to support the Iraq Civil Society Activity (ICSA) project. The overall objective of ICSA is to increase citizen engagement in the public sphere, especially among women and youth, while supporting civil society organizations (CSOs) to connect to and empower citizens and one another, thereby enhancing CSO resilience, increasing its credibility and effectiveness. The expected result is a more active and inclusive civil society sector that effectively fosters change and contributes to a more equitable and democratic Iraq.

The IT Manager is responsible for oversee the overall IT infrastructure and operations of the organization, This includes managing hardware, software, networks, data storage, security, and IT support staff, IT Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization-established standards are followed and that proprietary project solutions are efficient and cost effective, and will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into systems operation, and make recommendations for implementation, IT Manager will manage IT roadmap, and report on other IT related performance. and plays technical lead in any initiative that has an IT component.

Responsibilities

  • Design, Manage, and Maintain the project data, and security infrastructure.
  • Document and enforce IT policies and procedures.
  • Serve as in house expert for technology decisions.
  • Assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
  • Monitor and maintain the use of printers and other IT equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor procedures for all server backups.
  • Monitor, plan, and coordinate the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
  • Manage network connectivity and maintenance (internet connection and services, and devices configuration and maintenance)
  • Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and work with various vendors for local procurement.
  • Coordinate with Counterparts home office IT team regarding network, system hardware and software changes/issues/updates and user registration, updates and termination.
  • Provide IT support to employees and stakeholders.
  • Procurement of all project’s IT equipment.
  • Lead IT presentations and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the DOFO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility in IT system maintenance and user support.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in a variety of IT areas including Windows Server & Windows Client operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Windows network services: AD, DNS, DHCP, Print and file sharing and other services.
  • Physical and logical LAN and WAN infrastructure principles
  • Ability to respond effectively to time sensitive demands & inquiries.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills as well as exceptional customer relations.
  • Fluency in English required.
