The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Officer who wants to help people harness their own power to achieve a feminist, just, green transition in the 45 countries where ActionAid works.
You will work independently to deliver core IT services needed for the effective functioning of the Global Secretariat for both co-located and remote staff by ensuring that that effective and efficient IT systems are in place for the Global Secretariat (GS) Operations. You will be responsible for the user adoption of technologies through training, coaching and support. You will provide frontline technical support for critical business needs and will coordinate the delivery of services alongside outsourced Information Technology (IT) provider.
Who we’re looking for:
With substantial experience in a similar role preferably in a multi-country setting, you should also have demonstratable experience in the areas of working as a Microsoft Server/Network administrator. You should also have proven capability in IT Project Management.
You should have knowledge of applications within the Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud; knowledge of Windows 2008/12 Server, Windows 10 and Exchange 2010/13 as well as VMware is essential; knowledge of IT hardware and ability to solve simple hardware problems; a good understanding of current and emerging technologies, standards and practices; understanding of executing IT projects (software and other) through contracted vendors and suppliers.
You should further have strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work in a multicultural context/environment; you should be able to work independently with minimum supervision and proactively. You should have a solid understanding of end-to-end processes, being able to see tasks through to 100% completion. You should have a willingness and ability to work cooperatively and supportively with your colleagues, developing positive, open working relationships in order to solve problems and to achieve business goals.
